I see the forum changes moved your post to the electrics section.
I did pick up some 2" diameter 6061-T6 Aluminumium for the hub some time ago. I bought 24" of the stuff for great mistakes. It has been a LONG time since I operated a lathe. My China 7x12" unit will probably be the first to be working. I was in Walmart checking out with groceries and heard a woman trying to explain the pronunciation of Aluminum to her daughter, she was obviously a Brit.

You had it all loaded up like that on the 16th. You have been slacking off I shouldn't talk, I am still trying to put my little lathe together. The lathe workbench is all ready to put some edging on to keep things from rolling off the top. I glued two pieces of 3/4" (19mm) plywood together to make a sturdy 1-1/2" (38mm) thick top. Then I can start bolting the lathe and a big 1/2HP DC motor to the top. It is a lot bigger than the dinky 500W motor from China. I have not figured out if I want to gear the spindle drive down. My DBS unit for my ET has a failing battery so they are getting me ready for surgery on Feb 6th to replace it. Idiot doctors want to give me anesthesia for a simple 3" incision that could be done with a local or a whack with a beer bottle. I suppose an anesthesia job pay$$ better.

Sorry not replied before FrankenMech. I took it to the blacksmith a bit ago and went to check on progress but none. I forgot to take him a 24" wheel so he can align the sidecar properly as it was on a 20" before so went and bought one.

Are you out naked chasing butterflies again?
Somebody please find the BIG butterfly net and put him in a straitjacket in a rubber room.
This behavior can't go on, poor Yolanda.

I blame it all on the government FrankenMech. I think they have spiked the drinking water again. Next thing you know I will start believing that the earth is a globe.

Us damn colonials fell off the world. Them Australian dudes fell off first to break our fall though. At least they fell on top of those China dudes. Did all those British ships use magnets as ballast? Maybe I should have swallowed a bunch of cow magnets to keep my ass firmly planted. Governments do spike the water, why else would they keep all the pubs open?
Sorry if I make typing errors. My blood sugars are going wild and I can't see anything worth crap. I keep staring at what I type to try to make it out. I keep trying to clean my glasses. I need giant fonts. Personally I am about ready to give up and fall off the edge...

TIRE SMOKE coming up!!! Just don't have controller smoke. Did the smith do a good job? I should just pay someone to make the aluminiuminum part for me but I would have to give my Scot man card back. I did get my Horrible Freight air brad nailer to work right by adding spacers to the piston bore so I can finish the lathe bench. So many mods and adjustments to make on damn China tools. It would be nice to pop something out of the box and use it. Some say I should buy American tools and products but they are just as bad or worse at 5X the cost So I buy the basic crap parts from China and paint them FORD blue since they all must be Fixed Or Repaired Daily besides being modified to work at all... Damn China crap, Damn Army, Damn Army jeep.... etc etc etc.

Tire smoke indeed just going to order up 3 sla batteries for it in a bit FrankenMech and sort them out and fire it up next week hopefully. Smith did a good job. Some exploded pics below. Got to put the 24 inch wheel in yet.
Funny you should say about crap tools took some to the festival and usually one or two disappear so bought cheap ones. The 17mm flat opened up with hardly any pressure on it. That set went straight in the garbage there and then!
