I have a Yamaha slider Vertical minarelli engine My set up 70 CC MXS RACING 0.65 SQUICH MXS BIGVALVE VFORCE MXS RACING EXHAUST STAGE 6 RT 24 MM CARB STAGE6 OVERSIZE VARIATOR STAGE 6 RT CHLUTCH BELL STAGE 6 MK 2 CHLUTCH STAGE 6 HPC CRANK SKF C4 Stage 6 gearing and polini racing Gear cover. But now THE problem i have
MVT PREMIUM DIRECT IGNITION
I have change the cdi that comes with THE kit to a new EPROM WITH adjustebul IGNITION timing and curve I put it att 2.9 mm btcd
Now THE problem some time the scoter start in reverse THE motor Goes back wards.
I have dubbel check timing and 2.9 mm btcd and nothing is Lose
Has nerver hapen to me before Is there ANY One THAT can help me ? Shoud i sett + 1 or 2 or - 1 or 2 Or is THE eprom korrupt and faild

It's usually the timing that causes them to run backwards. Brent has done a detailed installation guide. Would be worth checking out
I loved my slider, though it was not as modified as yours.

Thank you THE strange thing is i can start 5 Times and working Good and next Day it runs backwards I stop THE motor and it works Good again

ryan_ott used to have occasional reverse starting when he used the E-Prom. Not sure which curve. It happened when he was riding with me and he just shut it off and started it again and all was well, as you describe. Since you have the E-Prom and that should allow adjustments, you could see if backing the timing off a couple of degrees is enough to stop it. I guess if the curve works well for you, just make sure you always gently use the throttle till you know which way it's going. I use the standard MVT CDI and it has never happened to me. The E-Prom requires the rotor to be installed much more advanced than the standard CDI, but the curves aren't so different in some cases. Makes me wonder if it's just a glitch, but the huge amount of advance causes this obvious issue if it happens. I dunno. Could be that the E-Prom does have more advance at kick-over RPM.

It would happen 1 out of 5 times or so with me. I eventually adjusted the stator plate and settings until I no longer had starting issues. I don’t recall where it’s set at exactly but I’ll grab my eprom settings later.

Just chiming in even though this is old but I have the same cylinder and similar setup. I was running a polini pwk24 and just swapped it out for a pwk30. The 24 ran fine but the 30 runs better and I see a few extra mph on the top end. If you have the 24 running well and are happy with it no real reason to switch in my mind unless you are after top speed.

It's because the engine isn't starting on the forward stroke of the kick and it kicks back and the engine turns backwards and the ignition sparks and starts the engine in reverse because the engine was rotating backwards from kicking back. I've found if the jetting is off and it's hard to start it happened more often or if you don't get a good solid kick from tdc it's more prone to happening. I've also noticed I get the best eta when the bike will sometimes start in reverse, usually the engine won't run as good in reverse and you can tell by the sound just shut it off and kick it again almost never happens back to back if it does happen back to back then there's a serious problem ether jetting is way off or timing is to far one way or the other. I've also had my MVT keyless flywheel slipping on me twice and become out of time, I noticed because it stopped starting in reverse every once in a while and ETA slowed way down also went lean.
