I have an ‘01 Zuma and have put on these upgrades:
• Polini Sport 70cc BBK • Yasuni R exhaust • Polini cp 17.5 carburetor
I am having all the work done by a mechanic, but have to order parts myself as they don’t order aftermarket.
The carburetor came with a fitting for the OEM air box which I want to keep if I can. I don’t know what size jets come with it, or what size and kind I would need to change out.
I know it needs CVT parts but don’t know what I need there either. Do I need a new clutch and bell or just a variator kit or both. 105 or 107? Roller weights? Clutch springs? Contra spring? New belt? Need some guidance.
I don’t want to change parts that don’t need to be replaced but want the most out of the parts I’ve already got. Probably should’ve made a post here first but any input is appreciated, Thanks!

I ran a similar set up on a zuma Yasuni r with a malossi sport and athena sport bbk kit If the stock clutch and bell are in good shape run them . I just changed out clutch springs to medium or hard . This lets you take off with power if you roll slow for 30 feet and then pick up speed you need stiffer clutch springs I went with the white malossi contra spring its the lightest tension but stiffer than stock to keep the belt from slipping Belt check if it is in spec Here is the service manual 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/26558/stock-air-open-filter-discussionStock belt works really well as you upgrade Variator Is a must do it will shift better and give you a couple miles up top To get you in the meat of the powr band you are going to want weights that have you shift in the mid 8s to low 9s for rpms Using the stock contra or the malossi white somewhere between 5 gram and 6 gram weights is the range that will feel spunkiest and give you the best top speed in the variator. As far as carb jets you need a large range to tune it best Run with stock airbox it makes for easier tuning Buy a jet kit that has 80 to low 90s main jets The pilot jet will be close with stock airbox the polini 17.5 cp carb ships with 80 main 38 pilot

The directory on the left and brents youtube videos are a wealth of knowledge . Plenty of Zuma builds to follow on here ..
A Yasuni R with a Polini sport kit is a great combo once you get it dialed in . It will wheelie on command and push 50 mph .
I would get a cylinder temp gauge.
I use trail tto surface mount with a 14mm spark plug ring . Battery last for 5 years plus . I also bought the 48 " extension so I could mount it up by the handle bar. I bought the directly from trail tech and amazon
I have tried to use the cheaper knockoff ones on Amazon but the batteries run out fast .
It will protect your hard work and will give you solid clues about the health of your scoots jetting on your daily rides.

the tuning sets are not made of a material that lasts long so once you find the right weight by rollers in that range . That would be the right range of jets I would grab try to group your purchases with one vendor if possible for free shipping springs ,and roller weights are easy to come on amazon or add on to other orders The jets and the variator I would get them from same vendor Treatland has this variator which has the white contra www.treatland.tv/malossi-multivar-variator-for-yamaha-zuma-p/malossi-zuma-multivar-51-7075.htmor try scootertuning.ca
