Bought from the scrap yard finally after eyeing it for months. Had been moved so I could check wheel alignment and for parts needed. It's a Keeway Superlight 125 a 2021 model with 451 kilometres on it. Needs about £220 worth of parts on it maybe less and that includes title as well.

I presume a accident apparently it was ridden in to the scrap yard main damage is bent shock and missing footplate with brake pedal on the same side plus cracked sidepanel. No scrapes or scratches on frame, seat, exhaust or tank. Headlight's been nicked whilst sitting there and Speedo broken but rev counter fine. Odd one to me.

Oil sight glass change didn't go well. Old one came out ok,gently tapping it in and popped straight into engine. I then inspected the casing and there was some crash damage. New casings are thin on the ground maybe a job for JB weld 😁

Can the casing be TIG welded? The aluminium appears thin with microscopic air bubbles in it. But worth a proper look when the casing off.

Way up there the question why it was scrapped, we forget to price our labour into repair,s £60 per hour in a general garage must be £80 at at named garage and then a paint job to restore it =just get a new one.

Geoff You are quite right geoffh, sometimes I strike lucky others not it's a risk but I enjoy doing it mostly not all the time though 🙂

Scrapyard finds are gifts for us old geezers that like to tinker. No scrap yards round here anymore. They have all become recycling centres and you can't take parts off or look around. Most sales are online.
