Tonight's job was using a version similar to JB weld to temporarily bodge the oil sight glass till a new one arrives at some point so I can test it soon.

Scrapyard finds are gifts for us old geezers that like to tinker. No scrap yards round here anymore. They have all become recycling centres and you can't take parts off or look around. Most sales are online. They call that 'progress'...

Well got the bike up and running after going with son to get suit for myself for his wedding. Didn't have much time so put the good Speedo that I got the other day so could check out the engine management light that it works and wasn't causing a no start issue still no joy checked what I could of wiring and whilst leaning hard over the kill switch heard the electric pump kick in. Flicked it about but no joy again but just before giving up gave it one hard jab and it worked so fired it up and checked the repair on casing was holding oil and it was. Good end to the day.

Sea air is very hard on cheap switches and connections. Clean them with many operations and a shot of WD40 helps to wipe the corrosion off contact surfaces. Then it is brake cleaner and a dose of silicone dielectric compound. Don't be fooled by Chinese electrical goods with a one atom thick plating of gold on them. Making good corrosion resistant gold plated switches and connectors is far more complicated.
Do you need a Learner's plate on the motorcycle?

Get well soon. That shock can be fixed with a BFH and some buffing compound Maybe hold it in your teeth and put a pipe over the other end and pull...
