I went to the proboards help to post pics and I drop the photo in the URL then it doesn't attach.Tried searching the site to find brents directions but that didn't work. The only service that comes up is postimage and that just goes to a server error. Fuck this sucks.file:///media/lmssd/KODAK/DCIM/100KC310/100_0078.JPG

I found a post where I posted a screen shot and I used Internet explorer and postimage and it worked. I tried doing it with Edge but just got server error.I think Internet explorer is abandoned now moved to Edge.

I use Flickr. It's free up to a 1,000 pictures. Just upload the image. Scroll down and mark it as safe content. Copy the image code and post it here.

I'll put in the code by hand. This is the head and a different pic of my parts. The valve seat is ok even though it looks funky. I'll upload the piston too. The piston has like a varnish on it but it shows no improper wear as far as I can tell. The face of the piston only has marks for the valves and no signs of damage.https://www.flickr.com/photos/196191419@N05/

The races(?) where the cam bearings sit are discolored but they were smooth.I have to upload pix of my chain guide. The black paint on the steel has worn down to red paint underneath.

This pic shows the steel part of chain guide worn down. One side is plastic and the other side is steel. It looks like some wear on the cam lobes and rocker arms but not much.JFC. The head link above has the chain guide and others in a different pic than the pic of the head. I thought I had to individually upload the parts pic.

I don't know about 2 strokes but my Tao tao 4 stroke doesn't have room to remove the chain without splitting the case.I can see a gear on one side of the crank then another gear. Then the end of the crank blocks the only way to slip it off then replace with a new one. This is hell.

RECAP: I was vigorously kick starting the scoot and it caught on something. I forced the kickstarter and got it running but it had low power and a loud clicking noise.Trying to turn the crank with the square piece holding the cam in place and has the rocker arms ,it results with something getting caught somewhere.I can overcome it with force but it should'nt do that. If I take the square part that holds the rockers and keeps the cam in place the assembly doesn't have the hang up. I disassembled the engine down to the crankcase and piston. The valves seem fine and there is no sign of excessive wear to me on the parts. The only thing I for sure want to change is the timing chain. However the crankshaft boss extends and fills the space I would need to take the old one out and put a new one in.So now I think I have to split the crankcase to get to the chain to replace it. I'm discouraged and frustrated. Also the link from the directory about crankshaft removal comes to a dead oops page. And the only crank removal info I found related to 2 strokes. I wouldn't doubt I'm overlooking the ones for 4 stroke engines.

No prob 190. Since it has 8500 miles on it I want to get a new chain from PFS. Would I be able to take a link out of it and put it back together with the chain link set you linked? It doesn't look easy but it seems easier than splitting the cases. The only experience I have with chain links is there used to be a master link on our bike chains. This is a lot more complicated looking but I'm new to this.

Looking at the description that breaker 'should' work for your project, measuring the chain pins on yours and comparing the diameters in the kit will be a good way to find out...
