I would love some more top speed out of my 72cc scoot. I've recently installed the magic #88 jet, uni filter, NCY CDI and 72cc BBK. My top speed has increased to 38mph on flats...I feel like I can get much more top speed though.
WHAT GEAR KIT WOULD BE BEST FOR MY SCOOT? 10% or 17%? my acceleration is already very very good. just need more top speed.
ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH EITHER?

If your only gettin 38 on flats with the mods done I would suggest changing variator weights first.

What exactly do you have 139qmb ?
Do you know what weight you have in already?
How big (lbs) of a guy are ya?
More city driving or long treks?

I have a 139 engine and I weigh a whopping 165 lbs. I don't know what my rpms are now because I don't have a tach on my scoot. I just ordered 5g rollers as well. I'll keep you posted on what happens after the install.

I have not changed the gears but I have about the same kit as you, less the UNI. It ran pretty well, then I installed an A9 cam. Wow, it really liked that cam. I also drilled two 3/8" or so holes in my muffler. Dont know if that really helps, but I like the sound. Its not louder but deeper. Next thing that added maybe 3-5mph was a size larger tire. I went from 3.0x10 to 3.5x10. I didnt measure the height difference. I have the small short frame :chinese: and weigh 185lbs, top speed is 48gps. I wish I could get 2 more mph  |
