i have a bugeye zuma that the trans drain bolt fell out of while riding, after about a 20 mile trip the rear wheel was very stiff and squeaks coming from inside, i replaced drain bolt and filled it up but a vibration and other problems persist, after 7k+ miles vibrations have gotten so bad exhausts break off and wheels constantly shear off while riding, over 10+ stock and aftermarket pipes and 4 rear wheels, well i finally have bought almost all i need to rebuild. But i cannot source a somewhat affordable brand new input axle. I likely will just go the next ratio up with a Athena gear kit. If anyone has a stock unabused input axle they could ship that would be amazing.
Also, what method is used to removing all the bearings from case and cover? i bought a $50 puller from amazon and it just did not work at all... Who has tackled a full rebuild of the final drive case recently? the service manual is 1 page for trans and literally just says "remove parts and put new ones in"

thanks, but i checked the whole forum before i posted i couldn't really find anything definitive about fully disassembling the transmission, just gear kits like you pointed out. specifically i need help sourcing a new input axle and method and tools to remove bearings

Do you mean disassemble of the CVT to get to the transmission? The transmission gearbox is just the gears and bearings.
You need a blind bearing puller, or you can just use the bread method on YouTube for bearing removal.

thank you, i bought a bearing puller from amazon almost exactly the one 49ccscoot himself uses in the videos but it flat out didn't work and warped the bearing in case so now im committed, are mine just super stuck? did i buy a trash puller? no matter what i did it just pulled out of bearing, i even hammered in the next size up

Only one size should fit a bearing. You should be pulling on the rear of the inner race. The puller should be a tight fit to get in. But once in behind the bearing, before tightening up it should spin. Sounds like you didn't have it in far enough. If the bearing is still stuck but still flat try the bread method. It's slow but works.

I had followed according to 49ccscoots video about it it just didn't work I tried on all the bearings and eventually the adapters were too damaged and bent, Maybe there isn't enough space behind the bearings? it seemed like the lip just wasn't catching.

I also have one more potentially game breaking issue, the bearing thats pressed onto primary shaft is very loose... can pop it in and out with my hands. Has anyone shimmed or fixed this before?

Can you take some pictures or video It would helps us see what you are up against.
The bearing that pressed onto the primary shaft on my zuma is a tight fit I would need a press to get them off

Im sorry i said that wrong, i meant the fitment of the bearing into the trans cover, either way i found my other trans cover and bread method worked flawlessly all 5 bearings out in 10 minutes

Excellent result in the end. 👍 that bread method is incredible, I understand the science around it; I want to know who's idea it was to try this in the first place...how bloody useful this will be for my gearbox rebuild once my cases are back from being done thank you!

Excellent result in the end. 👍 just got done yesterday removing the gearbox bearings, I can't believe how good it works. smashed my knuckles a few times with a hammer and made a mess with the bread, but it effortlessly worked cheers man
