Picked up a 125 today. Wanted something that would maintain speed a little better around here. I live in the country so all the roads are 55 with some hills. My 70cc hauls pretty good but wanted to try one of these. What are worthwhile upgrades to the 125’s? Not trying to build a race bike. Sliders, a new variator? Anyone have any info as there doesn’t seem to be a lot of info like there is for the 50’s.

Variator/ sliders to increase gear ratio is best bang for buck .
engine upgrade is very spendy
pipes are more for cool noise than speed

Yeah I don’t plan on adding a pipe. To me they would get old very quickly. I ordered a Dr pulley variator & some sliders. Hopefully that will give it a little extra.

Was at the beach this weekend so I took it for a ride this evening & hit 53.4mph. That’s with my 260lbs slight downhill sitting upright. I haven’t touched a thing on it. Dr pulley variator & sliders came in so I’ll try to get them installed this week & see if it makes a difference. Waiting on the new belt & contra spring to come in. Not going to lie, I like the size & that it’s quieter than my 70. I bet it gets twice the mpg too.

Installed the variator, 11g sliders, & new belt. Hit 55.6mph on the same road so I picked up 2mph. Air filter is pretty dirty so I ordered one & will change the oil & plug as well. Dr pulley variator is 118mm vs 113mm stock.

That’s 61mph on the gps? Flat or downhill? I’d love an honest 60mph. I’ll throw a 155 kit & cam in before long because I can’t leave stuff alone. I need to play with it a little more because I’m leaving around 4mm on my variator so I feel like there is another 1-2mph there.

Going to be gearing then, if she maxed out rpm, and moves you to 50 ish, then it is gear limited. Adding power will only get you to 50 ish faster.
Over all speed is always gear depending, engine can only rev so far

We have two of them and the other one is 100% stock and only does 52ish. I'll GPS this week but it's significantly faster than the stock one

Yeah you can definitely throw some more cvt and maybe a filter pod at it. Mine had too light rollers and a big ass diameter header and did 65 in a tuck, close to 60 sitting up as a 125.

Just did a GPS run , 53 sitting upright 56mph in a tuck. This scooter is 100% stock. I'll try to do the modified one tomorrow.

Broke down & ordered a rc 158 kit tonight. Comes with cam & injector too. I like the scoot but want a little more out of it so hopefully this satisfies the itch. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Finally got around to messing with the 125 tonight. It took a few weeks to get the parts in & I’ve been busy. I pulled the motor tonight so hopefully I can get it down in the next week or so.
