I'm running on battery backup power typing this cause the wind knocked out all the power about an hour and a half ago. I brought out the oil lamps and I'm chilling beers with ice in a cup. The last time this happened the power was out for about 12 hours. This sucks! My pets are all freaked out. Crazy winds blowin' I saw a bunch of transformers go up. Looked like lightning. :zap2:

That sucks. Better save some of that battery backup in case you're really bored later.

Our first big power outage i ran my car in the driveway all night with an inverter plugged into the lighter. Ran an extension into the house to power the TV and wifi. Just the essentials. lol

Well, the power finally came back on about a 1/2 hour ago so it was out for about 20 hours total. The cable TV went out shortly after my first post so I had no internet even with the battery backup. I never realized just how much I need/want the internet. We had very little damage. Just a couple of old corrugated roof panels came off the shed lean-to. I cleaned the carburetor and replaced the auto enricher on my yellow scooter and it runs like it was brand new again so I rode around for a while and took a few pics of the aftermath. I could have taken a lot more pics cause there's trees down everywhere and power lines were laying in the road etc... but these are a good example of the type of stuff that happened all over town. CVS Pharmacy tree lot tent was completely demolished. Almost took the bus stop with it: Fancy street lamp: This is why my cable/internet went out most likely cause it's right down my street a little ways: Trees and fences down everywhere: The big sign at ARCO station: This is a view of the terrain above my house. The yellow dot is about where my house is. The wind was screaming in from the mountains.
