Sym Symply 50cc slow and slower

Rode this 4t for the first time from standstill it takes ages to pick up speed, slowest scooter I ever had the pleasure of riding.

On the short hill on way back I thought it was going to need pushing but I did feel/hear it change down so Variator working.

Someone has been in there so wondering if they put wrong weight rollers in.

Do I need to go lighter or heavier if it's just that?

Well had to replace the part of the variator that holds the rollers looked like someone had been grinding it to reduce weight, belt was falling apart and rollers had flat spots they were 6 grams.The plastic sliders were missing bar a bit of one too.
So had a spare set of 9g rollers but ordered some new 6g one's, new belt and sliders.
Parts arrive middle of next week.
