I recently ordered and received a Vitacci Nitro 50, put it all together and went out for a ride only to find out the thing is terrible slow getting up to speed, will not go over 20 mph and any incline whatsoever will bring it to its knees. I'm 170 lbs and its advertised as being able to do 30 mph and I would be happy if it could at least do that. I have checked for the usual speed limiters the internet recommends but I'm not sure what the problem could be. Any ideas or help would be appreciated thanks!

It should run better with a few miles on it. The engine is very tight when new. So what restrictions have you looked at? Carb, variator?

I checked the Variator, I looked for and air flow restrictions in the air filter to the carb, I tried adjusting the air/fuel mixture as well with no change in performance or speed. Iv taken it on a couple more rides but I wont ride it anywhere but my neighborhood because of how slow it is I would probably get pulled over for slowing down traffic.

If it's not getting full throttle it might have a carb restriction like this.

To add to the previous suggestions, do tale a look at Brent's assembly and PDI series as a reference www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLm3-Rt5jsolvEQcIl1CMZGW5Yj_kP4WjcIf you haven't, you will definitely want to check your valve clearances. Also Chinese scooters are just weird sometimes. I bought a brand new Tao Tao Thunder from a local dealer, with the intention of upgrading it myself. They had to block off one of the vent holes in the cap on the end of the intake snorkel with a bolt and nut to block off some of the air so that it would run correctly on the stock, sealed carburetor. I did remove the cap later on, just to see the difference, and I was lucky to hit 20 mph. Checking the valves when upgrading, they were within spec.
