All the suggestions above are valid, in my opinion. Check the valves 1st, then while it is running shoot carb. cleaner around the intake. See if it picks up speed and stays running. There's your leak. I wouldn't think it would be an ignition problem since it fires up. Stranger things have happened however, but it usually takes a bit of time and heat for a coil to break down.

I know that it can be frustrating when things don't work like they should. Hang in there. If everything was perfect it would run. How about the cam timing? Are you certain it's correct? It's real easy to be off by a tooth. Pop the valve cover off and check it against the timing marks on the flywheel.

yes thats exactly what mine does. you are turning the mixture screw not the speed screw right? (i may not have been clear on that) try to start over, turn it atw in then 2 1/2 out. try to start it. if it still wont start give it a nother 1/4 turn out and try it again ect ect ect

obviously not. also an 88 is too small for a 50mm and you didnt say what that pilot jet is. put a new $25 carb on it with a 95 main and 32 pilot and be done IMO

all green wires and yellow wires connected! dont have a volt meter to check enricher!I'm gonna lose it bad!!need TNT to end the scooter blues!!!!!!!!!!!!! To check the enricher, apply 12v and after about 2 min the brass plug should extend 1/4" Sounds like you need to either: Clean the carb jets Adjust the valves again to .05mm clear debris from Petcock valve. (blow and suck on vacume hose for about 30 sec.) Check O-ring on bottom of intake manifold and manifold for cracks.

describe your carb cleaning method. unless you are using compressed air you are wasting your time IMO
