Hey Minarelli Performance People!
I have a question relating to older minarelli motors, and crankshafts.
This is my first actual post on this forum other than an introduction.
I have a 1986 Yamaha Jog CE50T-R which has the older (first?) version of the Minarelli Vertical 2 Stroke motor. I wanted to run a polini corsa cylinder, Yasuni R pipe, Polini 4race crank, and Malossi over range variatior kit. I called ScooterSwapShop asking if that setup would work, but they said the crank would not fit. I know I need an upgraded crank to run a Corsa cylinder, but I cannot find a crank that says it would fit. They said the cylinder would fit though. Still unsure about the over range, but that would be a topic for another thread.
My question is: Are there any upgraded crankshafts that will fit my version of the minarelli vertical and can hold up to a Polini Corsa?
My other option would be to find a zuma or 89-01 minarelli clone for cheap to steal the motor out of, which they said would fit, but I would much prefer to find a crank that works...
Thanks in advance, and happy scootering! -86JOG

I,m not sure about this but I feel the need, birdman had a CG or CE jog with "tuned engine" but said it was held back by the gearing which he had not been able to upgrade, hope I,m wrong but worth considering before you invest in a crank and kit.

That is good information about the gear sets.
I called a scooter shop just now and they said that a Zuma crank will fit, but the variator side would have difficulty. They recommended using a horizontal jog cvt kit because it had the correct belt length. They said stuff would bolt on but that it would take a bit of ingenuity. They made sure to mention that what I would be doing is kinda rare and that they can not guarantee part fitment because they haven't done it before. Basically they said I could run any Zuma crank and CVT kit (read: malossi over range;)) but that I would need all the parts out of a Zuma transmission to make it all fit together. They were excited about the project and wished me luck but said it would likely be easier to bolt a Zuma motor in it instead...
Now I guess I could run a Zuma crank but then I would be dealing with the transmission. It looks like I'll tear the motor and transmission apart and then see what happens...
Anybody got advice about Zuma transmission parts in a CE50 JOG?

Right I have found the info from from birdman that led me down the gearing pathway,it,s good news I think,on page one of my grandad jog build birdman says 53mph with bbk and pipe, but he needed taller gears and could not find them,53mph on a little jog is well fast enough for me,birdman is USA based so the parts are available to you.

It’s not an easy part finding a krank, for that Old full auto horse. My best bet from googling 2 minutts, is a crank from Yamaha BWS Ng/spy, Yamaha cw50, Yamaha booster. Thouse 4, har 2 difrent types, but basicly same shit. The Bouth of dem, is packing a vertical mineralli, and is the only vertical minarelli. But it’s just some good iders, i have absoulutly 0 knowlige of yamahas before 1985. A Nice fun projekt, if These engine, dosnt match youres. Buy a used more modern vertical mineralli, or a horizontol if you prefer that. The swap shoudnt be a Big deal, and opens up more Doors, for tuning.
Btw the Overrange variator is wired choice(without bigger pulley) and wont offer more, than a polini speedcobtroll. I would also highly recomment a new, same size as standart pulley, that rices straight(like stylepro, top performence, and more). I would 100% recomend to replace The pully for another that has a straight rise.

Did you ever get this figured out? We're you able to use the zuma crankshaft? Also if you did would you be interested in selling your stock jog crank?
