Did you lengthen the actual exhaust at all or did I read that wrong? I technically did, by about 2". But I lengthened it sideways... not lengthways. You can see the post about half way down page 2. I had to lengthen it to clear the fatter wheel/tire.

A little update.
I've been having this issue with my fuel tank incessantly cracking at the petcock flange. At first I thought it was a faulty tank so I bought another one second hand off of eBay. After one ride, the new-used tank cracked too!
After countless days of welding, rewelding, using fuel-safe RTV and then finally calling it quits with a massive application of JB Weld, it still leaks. More cracks develop everytime.
I am chalking this up to the relocation of my rear shock's upper mount. By moving it further back to the tip of the frame, I must be flexing the frame every time I go over a bump.
My next solution to try is to cut the bottom of the tank out and weld in a 1/8" thick plate with provisions for the petcock.
I can also cut a section of tank out at the rear and run a cross brace to box up the frame at the rear. Seems a bit farfetched, though.
FAILING THAT, the next move is to make an aluminum tank ( or possibly mild steel ) from ground up.
I'm also still battling my speed woes. Even after the 19mm Del carb swap, still stuck at ~45mph. But the fuel tank issue seems more pressing.

For any welders out there, please ignore my welding. My TIG welding is still very amateur. Lots of undercut because my heat management was all over the place. Either way, I pressure tested it and it holds. What doesn't hold is the paper gaskets I made. I'm waiting for a new rubber gasket for the petcock in the mail.
