Hello from Finland!
I have never been into scooters that much and never actually owned a 2T bike before but I recently got a Peugeot Speedfight 2 LC basically for free. Plan is to build a fast streetable scooter out of that for the next summer.
Cannot find many people build Peugeots on this forum tho, anything I should know?

Welcome to the forum. The old speedy is a good bike. Parts for them are getting harder to find though. Would be a good project. Not much on this forum about them as it's mainly an American forum. They did not sell the Peugeot in the U.S.

But first thing before the engine is to check all chassis parts that those are ok, get them painted etc.

The build quality is a lot better then the 3 and 4 that are made in China. If you are based in the U.K. Pedparts has quite a few parts, up to the MHR rep cylinder for the LC model. And the Airsal T6 70cc Racing Kit for the air cooled. Both of these will give very good performance.

Welcome!
I don't know much about Peugeot scoots, but I'm looking forward to seeing how your build progresses.

I'm looking for water cooled cylinder and I think MHR is too expensive for me. I was thinking on getting the airsal sport 70cc cylinder and doing some port work on it since I cannot find any other "race" cylinder kits exept MHR

Hey what's up, new to this moped world and I have a 49cc yamaha zuma (clone) that's got a so called 80cc big bore kit on it and apparently have a moped called a yiben series 5 that looks just like a zuma but it's not. I have been asked quite a few times if I have a zuma and I wish I did cause I wouldnt be having all these issues I'm having right now. Anyways im sure or almost sure it so called 80cc is only like a 72cc kit that's on it but I'm having a difficult time getting it running again. I think it's the stator that's giving me my problem and it all started when I apparently grounded out to the frame one day cause it started smoking white smoke like crazy from under the front housing under the handlebars and I thought it was about to catch fire with as much thick white smoke that was barreling out from under the fairing and I guess I missed a part of the ground that hit the frame and messed up the green wire throughout the whole wire harness and it's been giving me issues ever since. I thought I had it fixed but one day I tried swapping the 18mm carb out with a 24mm carb and it wouldnt start so I put the 18mm carb back on it and it still wouldnt start, even with starting fluid and I havent been able to get it running ever since. I found out that I'm no longer getting spark assuming that I burnt out the stator cause I was testing it and noticed the green wire was all messed up so I'm assuming that's one of the main reasons why it's not getting spark. I'm wanting to get it running great so I'm wondering would it be a good idea to go with a 100cc big bore kit from amazon or go with another so called 80cc kit but only after I'm assuming I should probably go ahead and get a new wire harness before I do the kit. Just wanting some input as to how I should go about this issue cause I plan on hopefully getting it running good again so I can sell it and hopefully get an actual zuma pr a ruckus or if I go chinese again which I hear mostly bad things about chinese mopeds so just wanting input and advice as to what I should do or how I should go about this as to my next step. I actually have (2) extra engines which I believe also have so called 80cc kits as well which the one on my moped is a 139QMB which I also have a 2nd 139QMB and the other spare engine is a 1P39QMB I believe is the engine code that's stamped on it. (Is there a difference between the 139QMB and the 1P39QMB)?? But my main worry and question is what I should do about my wire harness issue and how I should go about getting more speed and quality so I can sell it something something more reliable and quicker and if anyone has any ideas or really any advice as to what I should do besides what I've been told more than once which was just get rid of it and find something better so please just let me know what i should do from here cause I'm at a loss and tired of trying everything I've found on YouTube so far cause nothing has worked so far....

Welcome to the forum. You would be much better starting a new thread in the four stroke section. Than asking for answers here. You would get a better response. You need to go through the wiring harness and replace anything damaged. Then check your stator. I wouldn't buy anymore engine kits if you plan on selling. Just get it running. Most of the 100cc kits are not 100cc.

Speedfight 2 engines were never the best for heavy tuning, especially over the sport range. But it is relatively easy to swap a Piaggio engine in them. I personally would probably buy a 70cc Sport Kit like the Malossi, DR, Top Performances, Polini.. Maybe swap the gearing for the AC one (Peugeot is the only manufacturer I know out of my head that uses shorter gearing for LC, usually it's the other way around). Swap the cvt and youre pretty much on the max that is possible without machine work and custom fitting of stuff. It will go pretty good though. There are a few high end Speedfights out there that use the Peugeot engine, but it's rather rare and a lot of custom work involved. No cylinders over 70cc as far as I am aware. Also there used to be better tuning parts for the Speedfight, so maybe check for used parts.. IF you go the route for more power with the Peugeot engine, you can use Piaggio Exhausts, but they need a custom bracket and will look kind of funny, like in the picture.
