So here it is, the start of my first scoot build. The plan is to go for a "mid race" engine and build the scoot for road riding and for some stunting capabilities. No idea how it is going to look when done, naked, full custom, or maybe even stock-ish? Time will tell but atleast I have the frame ready for sandblasting and painting. Trying to update as often as I can to make it a full build log with good detail

Not a lot of those scooters have been documented here. I'm keeping an eye on this one.

Worked on quite a bunch of those SF2's. The shop I worked in at the time was a Peugeot Dealership and the SF2 was still sold new. Therefore I often had to uncrate and prepare them for customers. Personally not a fan of the Peugeot Speedfight platform. They were moderately popular for modding tho. Not the best platform for performance mods. At the time the Malossi MHR replica was the quickest cylinder available and exhaust wise you were limited to a Yasuni R. Most people hacked up Piaggio pipes. Aestetics wise there was a whole bunch of stuff available.

from my research: Peugeot Speedfight 2 almost the same platform as Honda AF18, Kymco vertical, or SYM DD50. however, as i found on the interweb: Honda DIO, Kymco, SYM has a Stroke of 41.4mm (scooterpartsexpress.c0m)
Peugeot is stated to have a square bore. bore is listed as 1.57" (39.878mm) stroke is listed as 1.54" (39.116mm) (mbike.c0m) i essence, the Peugeot has the same stroke as the JOG50 and the DIO, Kymco, SYM have the same stroke as JOG90. here is a video of Pitobread grafting a Peugeot bore onto a Honda AF18 engine. i am guessing that if you are willing to put the time and effort in, you can pretty much do the same things to your Peugeot Speedfight 2 that the Honda guys do with the AF16 and AF18 (DIO). you can do the 70cc stuff, 125cc stuff, or get nuts with the 160cc stuff for the vertical Honda engine platform. i dont know if the difference lies in the height of the bore for the Peugeot vs the AF18 or if it is a matter of the engine deck height being different between the Peugeot and the Honda blocks.

Did some gear ratio calculations and these are the stock values:
Primary 12/34 = 2.83 Secondary 12/47 = 3.91 Final gear ratio 11.06:1
What kind of top speeds should I be expecting with let's say around 12000rpm?

Since this is my first scoot build I'm just going to go with Airsal T6 70cc (If I can find one) or Malossi MHR 70cc

I had a look into this stuff but aren't those hondas and kymcos aircooled? I have been trying to look for cylinders I could make work from other watercooled engines but haven't had much luck. The options for peugeot are really really bad, even stage 6 has stopped making racing cylinders. If I want quality cylinder then Malossi MHR is my only option, haven't even found those Airsal T6 racing cylinders.

The options for peugeot are really really bad I already came to that conclusion 15yrs ago. Exactly like I said a bit earlier in this thread😅. A malossi mhr rep is a good cylinder tho.
