I'd rather pay less, but looks promising! Interested to hear your thoughts once you have it in hand.

I'd rather pay less, but looks promising! Interested to hear your thoughts once you have it in hand. I figure I'm paying about $25~ for a quality air filter shipped to my home. The quality airboxes ive seen usually start around the $50 price point. So if this airbox is on par in terms of quality with my Polini and UNI pod filters I think I'll be really pleased. I'm really hoping it helps bring noise down too.

$50 seems too high for an airbox... but everything is too expensive now and that's making a long trip to your door. If you went for a genuine replacement for a Polaris 90cc Minarelli, they're about $50 shipped and they're just a good quality part with the larger tube from airbox to carb (but still for small carbs). I've modified a couple of airboxes to make them work with larger carbs and those appear to be better designed than what is easy enough to do to standard airboxes. Hope it turns out to be a quality piece. Keep us posted.

Lambretta intake hose You will be happy to know I purchased two of them! I planned to sell the other one to help offset the cost of my parts addiction but I'll sell it to you at cost if you want it. In terms of the Polaris 90 airbox modifications I also planned on doing one of those before I found this product. The airbox (new but not OEM) was $20 off Ebay. I purchased a 50mm to 40mm reducing elbow off the slow-boat from China to try and cram into the airbox inlet, that cost me about $15 shipped. I'll still need some epoxy or shoegoo or something to make the connection between the hose and box. I assume that will be another $15 or so. By my math that puts me at right about the $50 I paid for the KN Planning airbox that's ready made. Of course that doesn't take quality into account but in terms of cost + project time the KN Planning comes out ahead.

I do love to see a bunch of pics of than KN planning unit mounted on your bike ready to go. It's a nice unit but I have my doubts about fitment.

It's a nice unit but I have my doubts about fitment. Heres the link to the KN Planning airbox on Webike Japan. KN Planning also sells some carburetor boots to modify your own airbox. Maybe thats the route to go japan.webike.net/products/22638379.htmlI found the boot the airbox uses. KN Planning sells it here -> 50mm Right Angle Boot
Heres the straight one -> 50mm straight connectionA traditional 90 w/ 50mm connection to modify your OEM Airbox -> 50mm 90 standard
EDIT: I am digging through KN Planning's offerings and they have essentially everything you need to modify your stock airbox to make it work. This is a really great resource, I was having a TON of trouble finding the parts to do a stock conversion. If anyone has seen my other Dio threads I recently was gifted a $160(!) DD50 airbox where the only modification was that one of the $20 KN Planning adapter boots were installed. Live and learn I guess!

i'll "trade" you the 2 intake boots for one of those air boxes. let me know. i picked up the 2 boots you wanted on Saturday, but on my way to 808 Cycle Center, my drive axle bearing broke so i was not able to send out the boots this past weekend.

Did you also managed to fit it to the motor? If so, how does it fit? Does it hit any of the fairings?
