I sent Carlos a message on eBay to see if he might be able to toss it in. Haven't gotten a response yet. No worries either way, I've already got a turbo fan on the way ($25 shipped from a random eBay seller). I didn't go with the www.partsforscooters.com fan because it was $28 after shipping. I got a red one though. Going to have to fusion it yellow ;D. We'll see how it goes with the jetting. I'm using the Uni Filter too, even if it doesn't really give me much performance. It's gotta help the throttle response to a certain degree, ya know? I've got he jets to get it just right, and to tune it to any other modification I do as well. It's funny, I have all these extra parts (Various rollers, clutch springs, contra springs, and now jets) if I need them, but I know I'm going to find one good CVT tune and one good carb tune, then not really need all the extra parts... Oh well, always good to have back-ups.

You will be surprised how much a load of tuning parts comes in handy! If ya can keep em all lol. I helped some friends out last summer with rollers, springs, etc thinking i would never need em. Wrong! I did...Im dont regret it because my friends needed help, and it was cool to teach them a bit about tuning but it would have been nice to have em when i ended up needing them. Glad to hear your getting a nice little parts stock!

Thats a pretty good deal Jeremy has there! The boost port looks bridged, and the trans bridges look nice! I would go with that kit. No offense towards Autotechs kit, its a darn good one also.

It's not really $15 more. If you use the coupon code "49ccScoot" with Google checkout you get 10% off. That makes the kit $135.
Here's a little longer description from another site...
"Stage6 now offers a bargain version of the popular Stage6 Sport Pro aluminium cylinder with the introduction of the Stage6 70cc Streetrace, grey cast iron cylinder series. The transfer port layout has been adopted from the high-performing Stage6 70cc Sport Pro cylinder but has been slightly modified in order to meet the thermal demands of a cast iron cylinder. Stage6 has also chosen a companion piston that is manufactured by the renowned Italian company, Vertex Pistons. The performance characteristics are very similar to those of the Stage6 Sport Pro cylinder offering a bit more power when accelerating but with 0.5 hp less peak power. The ideal RPM range is around 10,000 RPMs. It is recommendable to use a 70cc sport exhaust system. When it comes to looks, the cylinder is unobtrusive and looks similar to the original cylinder. Stage6 has deliberately decided not to display the Stage6 logo on the cylinder and has even stamped the Streetrace cylinder with "49ccm"."
I think it's a good kit, but if you already ordered the Autotech kit I'd probably stick with it. The Stage 6 kit will probably have a slightly better build quality and need less cleanup. No big deal though. You'll prob need to chamfer the ports on either one anyway. I've got 7,000 miles on my 54mm kit from Autotech so I can't say anything bad about 'em. I don't know if you'll really see much of a power increase with this kit vs Autotech's. I think it might make a slight bit bore from the casting quality difference that I suspect (I suspect this, I have never seen the streetrace kit in person) you'd see in the ports. Not sure how the port layouts may vary.

Cool - thanks, I feel better about it now.
So when I get the kit installed and get it running, I'm going to have a good boost of power, then when I install a tuned pipe, I'm going to have another GOOD boost of power?
... Then there are the carb & reed upgrades, another decent boost?
Can't wait.

The big bore kit should give you a really nice overall power boost. You'll have way more torque and more horsepower. When you add a tuned pipe it's likely that you will actually lose a little bit of low RPM power. That sacrifice is not in vain though. ;D The tuned pipe should hep your engine rev higher and make more horsepower. Tuned pipes work very well for increasing top speed. If you set up your transmission to keep the revs around the powerband all the time you can even get faster acceleration with a tuned pipe. Carbs and reeds can give a boost of power. Small carbs will usually give you really snappy throttle response, but they aren't always ideal when you wanna rev so you might pick up some top end power with an upgrade. Aftermarket carbs can also be great for people like us that actually have winters. If you do decide to get a new carb at some point, do yourself a huge favor and get one with a manual choke. It will be worth it's weight in gold on those cold days and nights. Aftermarket reed cages and reeds often allow more flow and remain stable at higher RPM.

A carb with a continuously variable choke (my choke is is a two position choke.... either on or off) is a very valuable tuning tool. By varying the position of the choke (enrichener is a more accurate term) it is easy to tell if richer jetting will improve your performance. So, by all means, try to buy a carb with this feature.

I have been away taking advantage of the nice weather here and trying to get my yellow chain drive scoot ready for CL. My stock carb looks the same as yours. My main jet looks the same too. The DellOrto 6mm (SHA PHPG) jets work fine, but the head size is a little smaller. The threading is the same, it's just that the head on the DellOrto jet is not as high. Brent's pics show the differences nicely. Functionally, it doesn't make a difference. The second time I ordered from Sherry Berg, I emailed her directly (sherryberg1) over at Yahoo as she didn't have any 6mm DellOrto jets up for auction on the Bay. Dr. it sounds like you ended up with a great deal on your jets. Greg

Thanks for the input, and yes the weather here has been superb as well. I've been riding as much as possible.
Glad to hear it about the jets. I just posted a review on the dealer, if you care to read it in the dealer review section. I also stated that I was unsure of the fitting. You have dispelled my fears. Thanks again, Greg.

No problem. I was leery too at first due to the heads looking different. I even read somewhere that the jets might be .8 thread pitch instead of 1.0. In the end, they work fine, and that's all that matters. ;D:)
I'm still waiting for my 90 - 100 jets to get here to finish tuning my red scoot. I took my blue scoot for a ride today. It is still 50cc. I changed the 6g rollers to 5g sliders and contra spring from stock to 1500. The RPMS are definitely higher, it is faster up hills, but still the same top speed. I think Dr. Pulley sliders are worth the extra money. Now I can't wait to put the BBK on it. I might forgo the uni also just to see the differences between the two scoots.

The final piece to the puzzle has arrived. I'm really bummed out that it's raining (I don't have a garage to work in anymore, do all the work in the driveway :/ ) Took way too many pictures. I tried to get some of the ports, because they seem to be already chamfered a little, well, some of them. Some of the other ports do not seem to be as much. The rings have writing on one side of them. Is this the side that faced towards the head? It came with exhaust studs. I'm debating using those, or the bolts that I have currently. I think I'm going to go ahead and put the uni filter on right away, just to get that extra umph. Holding off on changing the to the 1500 (am still decelerating way too much on hills), and going to see what happens with the added power. I'm way too excited right now. Heading off to Harbor Freight to pick up some sand paper and get to work on the exhaust port. Also going to pick up some good synthetic oil? for premixing the first few tanks. So heres the plan. New cooling fan, for the added heat of the 70 kit. Upjetting for the added fuel consumption between the kit and the filter. Replacing the broken fan cover New plug and coil (might wait on the coil because I don't feel like taking all the plastic off again. Also thinking of relocating the coil to a more accessible spot, like on Brent's scooter. Then after I feel the new power and get the engine tuned, I'm going to work on the CVT tune. Probably try out the 5.5g to see how they work, because they are a little big for my setup right now. Also going to switch to the 1500 contra if need be. Ahhh I gotta get outta here and pick up some sand paper, oil, and files.

Sounds like a good plan. The side of the rings with writing most likely faces up. Not sure how the autotech rings are, but some can only be installed one way because of the pin in the ring lands so you really can't mess it up.
