Has anybody experimented with different fork springs? I weigh 215 and with my '03 Zuma's greatly improved engine performance I'm considering upgrading the suspension some. Thicker oil should improve damping some but I feel better springs might be a consideration. I haven't found anything specifically for the Zuma.

It's not so easy to find different spring rates for scooters. They are nowhere near catered for like the motorcycle guy's are. If you can't find anything, you might be able to fit a spacer to preload the springs some.

A spacer is a good idea! Thanks.

I was looking for the same a few years ago. Found a company (need to look it up) that made aftermarket springs for the 1st gen Yamaha Neo's. Not sure if there are still around or if these springs are still available.

Thanks for the links! Looks like I'm out of luck on the Zuma springs. I recently found a new pair of the later black forks for the Zuma and thought I'd try to stiffen them up a tad before installing. It'll never be a road racer but I appreciate what suspension improvements do for the ride, especially at higher speeds over uneven surfaces. I'll experiment with some spacers and see how it does.

Interesting reads 190mech. Partzilla has the springs for about $5 ea might be worth experimenting with. Think I'm going to start with just a little extra preload and higher viscosity oil and see how it feels.
