Hello, everyone I recently picked up a couple scooter and I’ve had a lot of fun with them so far. The first is a 2016 Havana Classic 125 and the second is a 2003 Derbi Atlantis. I have been riding the Atlantis around quite a bit and would like to make it go faster. I’ve done some research and I don’t quite know what I’ve got. People say there are 2 differences to these models and that’s the engines. I can’t find anything that shows me the difference. I took a few pictures so you can see what I have. Maybe you guys can help me. I want to make this thing get 40+ stock as possible.

Ok I think I found out it is the Piaggo version based off the Intake boot. It has 2 bolts not 4. So is mine the better engine or worse?

Welcome to the forum I am sure someone will be along to help,40+ will need a bbk and exhaust, search the speed list and the builds section to see if anyone has been down that route.

Welcome!
I don't know if that bike has any restrictions. That's the first thing to find out, which maybe someone here knows. Then, it depends what you mean by 40+. If you just want it to reach that as a max speed, it can probably do that stock unrestricted. If you want that to be a comfortable cruise speed, then the easy way is either a big bore kit or an exhaust and the associated tuning bits for whichever. The harder way is to try to dial in the stock setup with possible squish/compression adjustment, port work, ignition timing and then the usual carb and CVT stuff. If you combine that with an exhaust, a 49cc can go pretty well.

the carb might be restricted, I think it depends how it was set up. It needs a very specific mainjet size. the unrestricted is 52 but it can take a 60. The "air plate" in the carb can also be removed but it's debatable how big a difference it makes.
it should be able to do around 40 when stock with restrictions removed.
How fast does it go currently?

It currently only goes about 30. This think has a Yasuni Z Exhaust on it. A Polini variatator kit with 5.6g roller weights. Red(2kRPM) torque and clutch springs. A lightweight Naraku Clutch bell. Current main jet is an 82. I can get up to 10000RPM with about 1/3 throttle and it starts to bog down when I try for WOT. Its very peppy but its got no speed.

Piaggio engine, great engine! Even better for tuning and modding. Restrictions can be in the intake side of the carb. A little dish with holes could be found there. You can take it out. It can be restricted in the exhaust. You need a dremel tool to grind away two little welds and wiggle it out. It can be restricted in the variator, google how to remove it. And finally on some models it is restricted in the reed cage. A restrictor plate is placed there and can be removed by taking off the intake boot.
