I thought there was a thread for this type of video but didn't see one, if so my bad for starting a new thread.
I have seen these races on TV before but this video is unreal and thankfully not many crashes. I would love to see this event one day in real life.
Thought it was worthy of sharing for those who haven't seen it.

I believe it's the most dangerous race in the world, and now the bikes are even bigger at 1000cc moving at speeds of up to 140MPH I believe (or maybe that's the now average speed?). Edit: I just see in the comments they are reaching speeds well over 200MPH. I think there have been 230+ deaths since it began back in 1907.
The race is pretty hard core, steeped in tradition and doesn't descriminate.

If you want to do well at the Isle leaving your cahones at the house is not an option.

I have been a few times you cant believe how fast they come past you. Mad sunday is worse you can ride the tt course with no speed limit its crazy your doing 160mph and someone comes past you like your standing still, always lots of crashes. This is one i always remember.

this is the image that pops into my head when ever somebody mentions this race its from either the 06 or 07 race. during his post race interview the photographer showed him the pic and even he couldn't believe he didn't wreck

I've seen that tankslapper vid so many times. I think that thing was in every crash compilation for a long time.

thats Steve Plater from 06 i think. It was not the tt but the Macau grand prix which is even more nuts than the tt as its held in a city with Concrete walls and metal barriers everywhere

ill have to dig through my old superbike mags and see if i can find it again. you might be right though, its sometimes a little hard to tell when one story ends and another begins in those mags from the UK
