After taking the pictures of the case and uploading them to the post, it is possible that the bolts that mount the Ignition to the base plate may have bottomed out on the case. It can be seen in all 3 images. The last photo smack dab in the lower center of the photo, or to the right of the mounting point closest to the camera. This definitely would off-center things and would rub without a doubt. There is no question about that. I will most likely thread for the next size up and make counter sink to fit tapered screws for that size. But still seeking feedback.

They should be M5x0.8. Mine are 20mm long, but length will depend to some degree just how thick the back plate is.
I'm not sure why they would strip out so much. I got torx bolts because I was more worried about the small allen bolts stripping than the threads themselves. I've never taken mine out since initially installed though.
You may be fine with a heli-coil or time-sert of the same size. Just use medium strength thread locker (blue) and don't push it with torque. If you want to go up a size, make sure you've got room for a larger countersink in your plate. You prob do, but there's not a whole of of extra room with some of these.

If I understand what your saying: if if if, you have bolts going through the plate that are too long and bottoming out on the case??? Show a photo of that plate with the too long bolts
IF that is the case, that puts a huge amount of force on the mounting bolts (and the threads that are ripping out)
I used to work with 1/2 steel plates that required high precision flatness. Each of the four corners had two bolt holes, one a through hole that the normal mounting bolt went through into framework. The second was a threaded hole that a bolt threaded through and butted up against the frame. Between tightening the mounting bolt and the flattening bolt, the plate would be warped into a precision flat.
That technique has lots of force and is similar to what your describing, ..... I think.
IF so, replace or cut down the bolts mounting the components to the plate.

Man oh man this problem is the one that's been Getting The Best of Me for the past 6 months or so I have a piazzio case but nonetheless it uses the same 3 bolt pattern for the stater place, Anyways I started with an MVT Ignition that only utilized to of those holes Wasn't too long before one Of them snapped off at the head My temporary redneck solution was just 2 Make a hole for the 3rd bolt to be utiliregarding the fact boats now holding it weren't even directly across from each other of course that didn't work for too long Fast forward to right now and I now have a melosi team Ignition It usu All 3 of the holes However just the other day I Had a failure when 2 of those bolts broke off at the head again They were put in securely they were definitely the right length I used blue thread locker and still I am having this issue I think going to the next size up is the only possible way that this might be alleviated I pray that I can do that cleanly and Get past this grimlin, Long story shorthere is definitely sort of Poor engineering or proper thinking of engine and it's stater mounting you would think on these cases which are the nicest cases in the scooter world that we wouldn't have to worry about stater screws breaking off when cheap Chinese models can get away with never having that happen I hope you figure it out I hope I figured out I hope we both figure it out and I hope Somebody learns a lesson from us and avoid this pain i* t** a** more to come much much more.....

I recently ran into an issue with my MVT Digital Direct Ignition base plate for Rc-One (Piaggio) The issue that I am having is that the 3 small tapered screws holding the base plate to the case got stripped. I am thinking about going Heli coils on the next size up but not sure if it's the way I should go about it. Does anyone know the size and pitch of these 3 small screws. It's not the first time I have run into issues with these 3 mounting points. I have been through 2 Rc-One engine cases before having the same issues every time. I had a friend tig weld and true it, JB welded it once, had zero luck with that as it is far too soft and much vibration for such application. Perhaps I should just tap it next size up and match the counter sinking on the base plate. I will add some pictures for reference below. I am looking for the most secure way to fasten the baseplate to the case as I am tired of dealing with the same issue time and time again. Any input would of help. Wow ive never seen this happen befor but I use the mhr team2 ignition I do still have the backing plate it came with to use stock ignition if that helps but I was going to use the mvt set up for lighting but was told it's not that good at it so I just run extra battery I'd be unhappy if this happend to me, so I understand why your not happy best of luck with it
