How many of you have closed the seat after you have had the body panels off and forgot to hook the cable back up? I just did it on a sweet low mileage Honda Reflex and the seat is $311.47 before shipping :beatup:
I have been down this road before. it dont pay to be in a hurry. I got it open with no damage but boy it was not easy. :scared:

I do that! and I have the seat off so much I have now just taped the cable to my frame hidden and tug on it to open the seat. lazyness goes along way  |

I've locked the keys inside the seat a few times. I use a magnet on a coat hanger to fish them out if I can't get at the cable or the latch.

On my Eton, there are four bolts holding the tub in. I didnt notice one was shorter than the others. After goofing with the carb, I threw it back together to check my handy work. Throw in wallet, house keys and cell phone. Ride, everything is cool, go to unlock seat to get keys and the seat/key tumlber wont budge. wTf ?!?!?! Soooo, I pop the hinge bolt on the front of the seat and just bend it back as far as I have to to get a 10mm wrench in there to pull the bolts while it was locked in back. The seat base split in half. *oUcH* ---get it open, put the short screw in the lock side of the clasp, all is good, 'cept the split seat.

I locked my keys under the seat of the Venus one day getting a scooter tag. I pried the seat up as much as I could and squeezed my hand in there to fish around and find the keys.

Did this once with the Zuma before leaving work. I have no idea how to even begin to get into my seat without damage. I gave the room mates a call and had them bring me the spare keys for the locks and scoot. Wasn't a fun experience.

yeah there is ways to pop the seat
i personaly like to try and hide a zip tie hooked to the release

yeah there is ways to pop the seat i personaly like to try and hide a zip tie hooked to the release My Burgman has a way to pop it without wrecking stuff, its just very hard to do. Dont know if it could be done at night without a flashlight. |

I locked my house, scooter, shed, and car keys in there, then locked the padlock on the scooter shed. I , went up and through my back window and retrieved the spare key Good thing I left the ladder out. |

I did the exact opposite once----- Got to work, put on the disk lock, Chained it to a stop sign, took off my gear, put it under the seat then, Walked away off to start work Leaving the keys in the the Key hole. :doh: :no: My scoot sat for 3 hrs locked up with the keys hanging out of the seat bucket in the lock.  I now do a key check every time I enter a building no matter what I'm driving.... |

i have to be real careful with the keys
at home they are locked in a garage so i may leave the key in it (i dont keep scoot keys on my regular key cahin too much weight)
and at work i park inside the bay so i leave the key in them there

I've left my keys in the ignition plenty of times haha. I leave the keys in the scoot at home since it's parked in a garage. So I guess it becomes habit. I've had the scoot sit outside of work with the keys in it locked to a bike rack for 9hrs. Remind you I work at a 24hr Kroger which is located next to 3 bars and a not so great apartment area. Little nerve racking. I do a key check before I clock in now haha.
