I locked my keys under the seat of the Venus one day getting a scooter tag. I pried the seat up as much as I could and squeezed my hand in there to fish around and find the keys. I did that once with my old scoot, never lived down phoning home to get someone to bring the spare (my helmet was in there). Thankfully, it's impossible on the new one due to the lock design.

...you mean these seats have a lock?
Ha, my scoot came with a busted latch on the seat part (busted = completly gone) I have the lock part on the seat but it has nothing to lock around...and the keyhole is mounted on a plastic body panel...and my scoot has very little plastic on it...so my seat is quick access. I don't Leo anything in the seat that I couldn't live without, I leave the keys in it and I'm thinking of eliminating the need for keys, just an on off switch. I used to lock the thing up when I took it to work where I can't see it for hours at a time, but then I realized...I can pick the scooter up and set it in the trunk if my car by myself....if someone wants to steal it, they are gonna get it...

I have locked my keys under the seat a couple times. I can pick the latch in about 10 sec. Sometime with your seat up, look at the cable release carefully. You can bend a piece of coat hanger wire in the right way. Then slide it in the right crack under the seat and pull the release with your wire. I dont want to say too much.
