It's unusual to have a restricted 150cc, as the restrictions on a 50cc are to keep them in the 30mph range that state laws put on mopeds. While the 150cc is a motorcycle requireing the registration and motorcycle endorsement in all states. I don't know anything specific to the brand, just that it's still the basic GY6 clone engine, probably a long case, and those 14 inch wheels will help improve your speed. p.s. since nobody has replied to your double post you can go back and delete it, you can delete or edit any post you write.

My friend had a BMS Zen King, which was very similar to that but with more of a floorboard and 16" wheels. Might be a totally different engine than his, but it was a different style than the typical GY6 that used what I think were 250cc CVT parts and a different stud spacing that wouldn't allow installation of the common GY6 BBKs. Sorry I dunno if this one is like that or not since it's not quite the same in other ways, but I'd look into that stuff by contacting dealers or whoever you can that may know. Just makes it a little more difficult to upgrade IF that's the case for this one. Not sure that having 250cc CVT stuff is a bad thing. They're pretty beefy and might have more range.
Like Stacy said, you don't hear of too many 150s being restricted, at least not by more than a bad tune or something. What type of restriction did you hear about it having?

My scoot GPS'd at 53 stock. Not restricted, just what it is. Some $ put into the CVT and an A8 cam got me over 60...I didn't check if the new exhaust did anything more for speed, but it sure sounds purdy

the only thing to worry about is where you live as out on the left coast more and more areas are making every thing meet carb smog in there add it says its not carm aproved and it also says not for sale in fl so my bet is some of the right coast is starting to requre things to be carb aproved

did you do a 180cc kit with the cam? i was thinkin a oil cooler would prolly be nice on it before the summer cause here in vegas the scoots die pretty fast in 120 degree dry heat

No BBK used. A8 or A9 can be used in stock, anything higher is only for BBK. I tried the A9 cam first, didn't like the sound, and even with the A8 the valves needed to be adjusted tighter to lower the clacking sound to what I found acceptable. I went with a new clutch and yellow spring, lighter bell, and performance clutch pully, longer belt, from Kidnmekarts.com, and a lighter variator fan, with a teflon coated variator, and Dr. Pully sliders 12g...also a performance CDI and coil to smooth it all out. The difference between the A8 and A9 was 2mph. The cost was between $300-400. The stainless exhaust was more because I just hated the way the stock rusted, so I never really took it all out to see if it increased top end at all. I havn't done the air filter yet either, so there is more room for improvement.
