Yea… now I’m thinking about doing this treatment on a front wheel so that they absolutely match😡. That would also give me a chance to get rid of the mechanical speedometer stuff and keep things looking clean.

Be awesome if you can get the spacing into the wheel so you don't need a spacer for the front wheel.

Could even use the wider front forks and get a nice sized tire. Be nice and clean with a nice matching rim and no spacing required

After much procrastination, ( can’t believe I let this sit for a month!!! ) I have finally made the jig for holding the three components in proper orientation for welding!

Slipped it on the axle and all looks good!



I also mounted the rim on my balancer and gave it a spin. It runs nice and true.

Before I clean up the welds, I’m going to mount a tire on it so that I can get the new engine mounts located and welded on. I have about 4-6 weeks before the painter does his thing and I want to get everything test fitted before that so I don’t have to re-work any painted parts. I can pull the tire back off and clean up the welds at that point.

I could have gone with a little bit larger tire but I still had to run this one flat to get it on. When this one wears out, I’ll go up a size.




Also, I bought a fancy shock when I first started this project that would have rubbed on the tire on the 50cc motor. I’m going to be able to use it after all as it fits this setup. I’ll need to purchase another one though… it will have dual shocks.
