So the main plugs that plug into the current and stock cluster...does anyone have any helpful hints on to distinguish what they do?
Mine has one big 9 pin plug and then two separate 2 wire plugs
the 2 wires plugs are this - one is a black and a yellow wire. - one is a black and yellow wire and a black wire.
Do i just get a multimeter and get voltage reading on all the 9 pins?
Im assuming one will be constant, one will show when ignition is turnied, two of them will show when I have a blinker on, and one will show when I turn brights on.
anyways...any help or tricks here would be appreciated.
Thanks
ps: i have stock vento triton gt5 2008 gauge on my scooter and want to change it because it doesnt all work correctly.

You answered your own question. With power off you can also use the continuity function on the meter to verify wirees.

I have one. I've just never done this. Some are powered..some are based on resistance (fuel sender). Anyways Thanks...I guess it's just trial and error with a multimeter. You answered your own question. With power off you can also use the continuity function on the meter to verify wirees.

One infuriating thing I found with some cheaper meters the leads didn't always make a great connection on the meter when testing as the meter would always slip about due to not having 3 hands and dangle in the air by the leads so I now tape or strap the thing so I can read it and it doesn't fall and loosen the damn leads from the thing.

I guess my question would be are some of the wiring routed inside the new cluster. For instance...there is a main plug that comes from the main bike up into the cluster...you wont necessarily find your individual wires feeding turn signal indicators from this harness right? Is some of this routed inside the cluster? I have one. I've just never done this. Some are powered..some are based on resistance (fuel sender). Anyways Thanks...I guess it's just trial and error with a multimeter. You answered your own question. With power off you can also use the continuity function on the meter to verify wirees.
