Where would y'all rate in terms of power and speed...
We will use a genuine buddy for reference.
2 stroke buddy 50cc upgraded to 70/72cc and properly tuned.
Vs.
4 stroke buddy 125cc fully stock.
What about fuel efficiency comparison as well as speed and power.

It's not just the upgrades. It's what sort of upgrades. There is a lot of difference between a Naraku mild 70cc and a street pipe. Versus a MHR replica with a $300 exhaust. I'm not familiar with both bikes. But it's easy to make a small two stroke faster than a 125cc Chinese bike. That's even why the 100cc air cooled Aerox never sold well here. You could make the 50cc liquid cooled much faster. Fuel economy is going to be a big downside. As is the amount of quality oil and maintenance needed.

Just my you cannot compare apples with pears,a 50cc gets 40mph top end a 125cc 60mph from the factory, the 125 machine will win hands down but won,t wheelie Geoff

Never rode a chinese GY6 125cc but I did once ride a Aprilia Leonardo 125cc. I can tell you, that Leonardo was way faster, more comfortable and more smooth than any regular 50cc scoot fitted with just a simple 70cc kit. A 125cc GY6 probably only has half the power of that Leonardo lol but I'm 100% sure it still will be quicker and get better mileage than a simple 70cc.
Things become different when you go with a aluminum 70cc (athena or stage 6), Yasuni R pipe, a 17.5mm Dellorto and a sports variator. Then they will be very close (50cc bike vs Leonardo)!

My Aerox with a stage 6 street race and stage 6 pro rep pipe smoked the wife's Aprilia habana. It would murder it on acceleration and match it's top speed. The aerox probably made about 10hp. The same as the Aprilia, but was 50kg lighter. The aerox felt way better at speed. But the brakes lacking.

I've had both a Buddy 50 and a Buddy 125. The 125 is quite a lot faster than a stock 50 or even a mild 70cc big bore, they'll do about 65 bone stock owing to the fact it actually has a longer stroke than the 150's do(60mm vs 57.8mm) so it makes a fair bit of power for a 125. Unless you've done a lot of work, gotten a high end 70cc kit, a very nice pipe, and other mods the 50 isn't gonna out-perform the 125.
If you DO spend the cash and time on the higher end parts, then the sky's the limit.

The buddy 125 and 50 are great platforms to build off of Out of the box The 125 has more power Spend 1000 bucks kit and pipe transmision and carb on the buddy 50 and now its way faster See OHbuddys speed list
Spend 1000 bucks on the Buddy 125 on a pipe kitand transmission and now your way faster Just ask Kaos how fast he made his 125 after he put his Voodoo Buddy skills to work
It really just a matter of money and how much you want to wrench.

I mean... My Buddy 125 is pushing about 60HP right now, and would push 70HP if I switched to E85... so its really just about how much money you want to spend. At that point whichever one you spend the most money on is the fastest one But like you said, they're both really good platforms. A strong 2T for the 50cc and a great GY6 based 125 that's pre-strokered. Both are faster than most of their peers stock, and only get faster with work.

Yep, speed always depends on money.
Aerox bought his bike already built, Kaos built his bike, both are amazing bikes 😍

The yellow aerox was brought brand new from the dealer in 2008. I only sold it as I moved to a city, and it's no place for a racing setup. Plus I needed a bigger bike to use for long distance on the freeway.

My fault, I thought you had the grey aerox built by turner customs. My mistake brother 😐 That grey one was a Piaggio. 😉 I had a yellow aerox which had loads of different configurations. Including a bent crank mod! Now I have two of the newer style ones. I'm trying to own as many scooters as milly but he seems to buy more every week!
