Side of the four wheeler says 50cc, spark plug has been out for a long time. Variator clutch and TD all look very good. It even had the speed limiting spacer in the middle of the variator which this is the first I’ve seen one. Thunderstorm stopped me from digging further

Clean it up and build it as a spare engine, easier to bolt in a fresh engine if and when yours fails. Mount bolt, shock bolt and you can have a fresh engine in 20 mins or less 😆

Could it be as simple as replacing the current gear final output with a scooter axle/output shaft?

If the tires or wheels are good they may be worth some $$.
A hose, compressed air, and some electrical parts cleaner will clean that stator up. Parts need elbow grease.

It’s been a good experience taking this apart though. I split the cases, first time. Learned some things.
