Hello, Brand new to forum. I have a 2021 Maddog 50cc PMZ50-19. My air intake box was damaged (Cheap plastic one) and I upgraded with a new foam air filter and removed the old intake box. Now the scooter has very little power. Do I need to rejet or is there another simple fix? Thanks in advance

yes you need to rejet you most likely are getting way more air and need to go up quite a bit 10-20% larger buy a jet kit and go ereally big and work down till it runs best

Most times swapping a factory airbox for a 'bare' filter will affect startup and possibly cause a bit of hesitation when accelerating. It likely will not affect power unless the original airbox was very restrictive. Did the new foam air filter indicate if the foam should be oiled and have the oil massaged to make the foam 'sticky' for dirt? If so, that foam will cause a bit more air restriction than one that is dry.(and it will filter better) Did you pull the spark plug and inspect for mix conditions? A lean mix most times will make the spark plug center insulator colorless and have no deposits. A good mix mostly leaves a slight tan-ish colored deposit on the insulator and possibly side wire. A rich mix will be black and possibly have ash deposits, etc. tom
