Picked up a 2005 TNG Milano last fall for cheap. In the past I have had zero luck with making non-working 2 cycle engines into properly functioning specimens. This one barely ran so I hauled it off to the local scooter handyman. Just got it back today and after putting it through its paces I have determined that it is still not right.
Two different mechanics gave it their best and now it has a new carb, spark plug and a cracked intake manifold has been replaced.
Symptoms are: *Very cold blooded, will not idle until warmed up. *Bogs at WOT but only at higher speed and under heavy load (up a hill).
This thing absolutely jumps off the line and just screams on flat stretches or down a hill.
My mechanic bill and purchase price has already exceeded fair market value of the scooter. I need to learn this stuff anyway so where should I start regarding diagnosing the problems?

- Air leaks, do a brake cleaner or deodorant test. -Dirty/worn out carb, dismantle it and reolace gaskets, seals and clean it with brake cleaner and pressurised air. -Tune it.

Thanks for the direction. I went and watched a bunch of YouTube videos on air leaks and brake cleaner testing. According to what I saw, it seems that a vacuum or air leak are very likely. I’ll be doing those tests soon.

Do you know if it has the stock airbox on it?
Do you have any idea of the RPM range when you get the bogging at WOT?
Do you know what jetting and needle settings the carb has on it? Was it setup or did they throw a $25 ebay jog50 carb on it and call it good (that wouldn't necessarily not work)?
