So i recently ran into some carb issues on my last ride and have not been able to figure it out. My moped bogged out and is clearly not delivering fuel. I cleaned the carb multiple times; and yes cleaned well all jets/jet channels, I took the mixture screw out and cleaned as well. I used compressed air and carb cleaner. I ended up purchasing a regular gy6 150cc carb and installed it. Heads up I have been running a 30mm carb with a bit larger manifold (no issues for 2000 miles). But I installed the regular manifold and smaller carb but still no gas. I looked in the tank and found some stuff slushing around so drained the gas tank and cleaned it with compressed air and water. Let it sit in the sun to air dry and installed new petcock (old one the filter broke off). Put some new fresh gas in and you think by now it would run... But no. Still no gas getting to the cylinder. Ill anwser any questions. Anything helps! Thanks

If you suck on the vacuum line from the petcock, does fuel flow from the tank?

Yes it does.

Check the vacuum line for a crack.

I have all new hoses all around. As well a brand new carb. New gas. New fuel petcock. I adjusted the valves to Intake:.004 Exhaust: A bit tighter around .007.

Check that the elbow on the intake is sealed to the cylinder head surface and does not leak. If leaky, there would be minimal vacuum, and the petcock may not stay open to allow fuel flow. One way to test if fuel delivery is the problem is to provide a temporary fuel supply. Some use a small engine fuel tank in stead of the factory system. You can also use a longer than normal length of fuel line directly connected to the fuel inlet on the carb. Fill with fuel, and hold the open end up to keep it from spilling. Ride. The fuel should flow properly directly from the fuel line into the carb without problem. If that cures the symptoms, you can be assured that lack of fuel is causing the symptom. tom
