I went on a scooter vacation this weekend with some friends and one of them tossed me a GoPro and a chest harness they had as a spare to help record our riding.
I am hooked on recording now, I want to capture all my trips and maybe even my tuning runs.
What are people using out there? GoPro’s are expensive, are there alternatives that are worth using?

The go pro is a great device, there's a lot of models, I use a hero 3+ comes with remote control, I also use a gimbal that keeps camera level when cornering I do have 2 over there's one on gimble forward and one on rear of bike for behind view, there not expencive until you go to the hero 5 or above they have more options but the hero 3+ takes great video for what it is and if it does fall off housing should protect camera

I use a GoPro Hero9 on my helmet for all rides. Sometimes I have another Hero9 facing rearward. They're generally good cameras. I had 2 or 3 Hero2s, then 2 Hero 4s and now 2 Hero9s. Been using GoPros on basically every ride since 2009 IIRC. Yes, there are cheaper options. Some people really like some of the lesser known brands. I stick with GoPro because they have worked well for me overall and I can get most accessories pretty easily. I tend to keep at least 15 batteries around for example, so I consider things like that when looking at off brands too. Not saying they're without flaws though.
