I recently just found the ever elusive AP8510797, which is a gearbox cover for an Aprilia 100cc minarelli engine, specifically the ZD4REA version of the 4VP. There were 2 models of 100cc engine for the Aprilia 100 2T is 2000. The Zd4REA was made by motori minarelli, the ZD4RE0 was made by Yamaha. I have been searching for this part for 2 YEARS! LOLOL. In the interim I tried everything I could think of. I got a cover for the BWS 100, didn't fit. Picked up an Aerox yq100 cover...no dice. Tried to find the other version of that engine ZD4RE0 cover to see if it was same....SCREWED. Completely different part number AP8510609. Why Aprilia? Why would you do something so damned wacky? Anyway. This problem has tormented me for 2 years and now hopefully its over....unless the part gets lost in the mail. 🤣
Anyway, that's my long obsessive Captain Ahab story. What's yours? What's the longest you've searched for that one part that nobody seems to friggin make?

pete130 Aw man, that Amazon stuff is over the line, isn't it? I hate it when people gouge. I hadn't considered the shipping issues for Australia. I'm glad you were able to finally snag the gauges. Better put them things in a safe. lolol.

Shipping is over the top to Australia and ordering from Italy its up to 8 weeks shipping and they make you pay for 1kg even for a washer, I had 1 quote for a $2 washer shipping was $89. I have one more part ive been trying to buy, that is only made in small runs and so had to buy second hand ones are dobble new price but you can't buy it. Drives me insane lol. I think I have every part I need to finish project now, only took 18 months to do lmao

Waited about 5 years for a 100cc Aerox rear wheel to come up on eBay for sale. They are real unicorns here.

aeroxbud Yes exactly! The aerox stuff gets so hard to find. For the longerst time I was searching for a set of Aerox 100 cases, but in the US -- Good luck my man, and the prices were out of range for overseas. That's how I ended up with the Aprilia cases. Thought I was coming out on top- oh I'll just grab a transmission cover - sure no big deal. It's like Spongebob right? 2 years later...

You could make a 50cc much faster. The 50 is water cooled with a better engine and rear disc brake. Masses of aftermarket parts available for the smaller engine. Not many for the bigger one.

aeroxbud. I think that's the appeal for me. Trying to find those hard to get pieces. I've built up the small motors. I've made a 103 out of an Adly 90. I've always wanted to build the Malossi 124cc, just couldn't find the right pieces. With this cover, I finally have a base to start from. Something about searching for bits and pieces here and there -frustrating at times but all part of the fun.

Something about searching for bits and pieces here and there -frustrating at times but all part of the fun. Malossi, Airsal and Naraku all make cylinder kits for the big aerox. None are very high performance though. Exhausts are really limited to a couple of choices. The Tecnigas Next-R is about the best performance pipe. That's where you have to think outside the box. And go old school with the tuning. pete130 spent a lot of time and money making a fast 100cc.
