When i was 12 i might have thought it was cool.
Perhaps I feel the way I do because I have spent a great many years fixing vehicles of all types and building things and invested lots of money on tools. To see a vehicle or anything else destroyed for the 'fun' of it is contrary to my values.

Waste of time and a waste of a good tire.

I turn 12teen on Sunday but, I do agree.... this was a total waste, showing off infront of a few drunken friends. In fact, it kinda hurts watching, seeing the truck/pavement get destroyed. Then again, 5 million Youtube hits makes this idiot a semi hero I bet the repairs were not worth the views but, still -It seemed like a good idea at the time-

I used to ruin tires, never had a desire to ruin any wheels etc.... Gets expensive. Gets old. Till I was probably about 21 I'd be the dude doing donuts in the parking lot on a Friday night or smoking up the middle of town for no apparent reason. After you do so many burnouts, they aren't as fun. That said, I still feel the need to do at least a little burnout before replacing a set of tires. It's more entertaining when you aren't doing it daily or weekly.
One thing about killing the wheel or the drivetrain... if the vehicle sucks so much that you don't care about it, there are probably much cooler things I could watch doing burnouts. The one time I really love to see burnouts is at car shows. Well that or any time there's a scooter doing one. lol Any time you can light the tires from a fast roll, that is impressive to me as well.
Here's one from a local show that didn't work out so well...

back in the day i was so glad my buick wildcat had a huge trunk as i had 4 spare tires and made many trips to the junk yard to turn the old steelies in for a partial trade on a new set of tires on rims but again abck then you could swing by the junkyard and get a set of tires on teh rim for about 20 bucks and they were good tires

I think a burnout is stupid if there is not a drag race a few seconds later.
