Hey all, new to the form, I have a 2016 genuine roughouse 50,
I bought the scooter used with 2600mi,
Currently I am experiencing two issues that I would really like to resolve but I'm not exactly sure the best place to start on these issues. I've not diagnosed many issues with motorbikes or scooters so any ideas on this stuff would be super helpful and appreciated!
First, one major issue I have found after driving it for a few weeks and I have been having issues with head shake, death wobble, tank slap whatever you want to call it. If take my hands off the bars for just even a second, the front wants to start the wobble. More recently I hit a large pothole doing about 15-20mph and it started a bad shake that I was not able to get the bike out of, forcing me to dump it. I'm fine just a few scratches and sore shoulder, but afterwards the alignment of the handle bars to the front wheel were off say roughly 5-10 degrees to the right relative the the front wheel.
I was able to realign the front wheel and handle bars by hold the bars steady and pushing the wheel with my foot back into alignment, it took a decent amount of force but just me pushing it with no tools. I took the front fairing off and looked into the steering set-up the there is (1) bolt that holds the handle bars to the steering column and then there is lockout an big nut just below where the handle bars connect.
It doesn't look bent or anything but I haven't taken it all the way apart to give it a true inspection. I suspect something might no be tightend completely? I should mention I checked the front wheel to see if it was running true and it seemed to track true and I didn't notice any slop left to right on the axle, the only other issues is the front brake pad is basically gone and the rotor is chewed up, (been waiting on new parts to replace the rotor and pads) and there is a little bit if dragging on the front rotor but not huge ammount just enough to make noise.
The front tire is a bit worn but not unevenly, as far as I can tell.
The bike was also dumped pretty hard by the previous owner, it actually bent the right rear metal foot pad into the bike. I'm not sure if this accident could have started the issues but I suspect it's possible.
Any of you ever experienced this issue? And what can be done to lessesn this effect?
Second,
This issue I'm also not sure what it's being caused by, the scoot starts idles fine, and runs fine driving for the most part, but occasionally I'll be cruising around 35mph and the bike will start bogging down, I stop and shut down it starts back up and runs fine, sometimes all I have to do is stop for second while still idling and then it will start running fine again.
The thing I suspect are that maybe the fuel filter needs to be changed? Maybe fuel tank isn't getting enough venting causing it to create a vaccume in the tank? Could it be an issues with the carb? I just want to see what yall think before I start digging into it.
Thanks ahead of time for anyone that can help with this!
