So I am currently messing around with a 1993 yamaha razz, guy gave me both a stock and custom expansion pipe (MLM yamaha RAZZ SH50 pipe). My issue is when I have the expansion pipe on my carb floods WHILE IDLING.
When I put the stock exhaust on she runs fine, no flooding,
I've cleaned the carb numerous times, I've tried messing with the air and fuel screws and throttle needle. Would a different main jet help?
Anyone have any advice or tips on stopping so much flooding from happening at idle-15mph?

I think the carb flooding is probably not related to the exhaust. The reason for lack of power till 15mph, is you need stiffer clutch springs and lighter rollers. The expansion chamber systems move the power further up the rev range. Which leaves a dead spot down low.

Aeroxbud I've cleaned the carb numerous times, nothing in the jets, float and float needle are all fine and working. When I run the stock exhaust I don't have any flooding. Only when I put the new pipe on do I get flooding.

It’s not flooding. You aren’t revving high enough to take off. It’s slowly building rpm & when it gets to the sweet spot it goes. Stiffer clutch springs & lighter rollers are needed.

I just realized I didn't clarify that the carburetor is flooding when I am idling with the expansion pipe on

What do you mean by flooding? Leaking out the overflow? Or flooding the engine and stalling?

Out of the overflow vent while idling

It's most likely something stopping the needle valve fully closing and shutting off the fuel supple. Or the wrong float height.

make sure its not a cracked fuel line instead. I mistook that once.
