Buddy of mine got a 2019 roughhouse 50 for a decent price... Didn't run ... I put a 70cc nicecnc kit on after cleaning up the ports. Bumped main jet from 82 to 92, 300 miles later plug looks awesome, 41mph but it feels like it's run out of legs... Motor has a little bit left but no change in mph wondering if heavier sliders vs rollers I split 7.4 x3 and 4.9 x 3 appreciate any info I can get... Stock muffler (he says it's to loud as it is) thanks in advance

welcome fellow roughie the stock muffler is holding you back it holds the rpms down to 8000 to 8200 rpms . the stock variator also does not get full belt travel . I have a 70 cc malossi sport kit paired with a malossi wild lion street pipe has a very wide powerband like a stock motor it just lasts for longer rpms with that set up I can run 5.5 to 6.5 gram sliders with basically the same speed
what kit do you have sport level or race kit ?

Best I can figure it's a sport, the variator believe it or not still had a plastic washer in the variator and how the pitch the ramps are on the variator was probably the biggest part of my concern it's about to turn 6k and the variator has heat cracks towards the center on both sides. I've been having awesome speeds takeoffs and all running 13g and 5.5 gram split in most of the gy-6 engines I've done but pitch is probably half as steep

by plastic washer you mean the restrictor that keeps the variator from closing all the way i refer to it as a wedding band ncy makes a variator upgrade costs under 40 bucks www.scooterworks.com/NCY-Pulley-Golden-QMB139the stock back plate works with this variator with a stock belt and stock variator fan you use all of this variator and it is lighter than stock so it spins up faster Malossi makes a variator also www.scooterworks.com/Malossi-Performance-Variator-Buddy-50-Roughhouse-50-P12701take off is similar to the ncy the top end is a couple miles more because it is larger than the ncy with this one also you use the stock variator fan this is the ncy after doing the sharpie test there is less than 1 mm left on the variator

the sharpie test is a great way to see if you max out your variator take a marker and make a mark from inner edge to outer edge of the variator
and run down the road full blast measure how much is left .
The stock variator is 95 mm and only uses 85 mm (ramp angles are terrible) the ncy uses all 89 the malossi uses 91 of 95 mm
