Sym 137qma bought a high speed variator and it seems small compared to stock. The stock variator measures 105 mm and the polini 95 mm. Judging by the belt marks on the original seems at full engagement the polini would max out.any idea what's going on here.

Only guessing!!! but the polini variator is designed to work best with the polini over range kit,but you,ve bought it now so you may as well fit it and see what happens.measure your speed before and after. Usually sport variators have a ramp angle to accelerate faster than stock, it,s much more noticeable on two stroke motors.

Geoff I will have to try it and find out the ramp looks to be more of an aggressive angle. I just don't want to throw the belt at max speed neither.plenty of these engines out there and hardly any info on tuning these things.
