I’m currently running an 04 bugeye with a malossi cast kit, 17.5 carb, silent pro pipe, and 13/44 gears and am considering an aftermarket variator. What offers better performance, a malossi multivar or an MHRoverrange variator (not the complete overrange kit)

Without having the oversize torque driver, there is no point getting the variator to match.
The Multivar is a good variator for the price.
I have the Polini Hi-speed evo variator, which is larger than stock. It's designed to work with the standard torque drive. The biggest advantage is the rollers are the same as the Piaggio 19x15.5mm.
