I eventually got a bike on the cycle to work scheme. Don't know if you have a similar version stateside or a motor parts, bicycles tools etc company called Halfords commonly known as Halfrauds. Collection of first electric bike fine went to charge wrong voltage charger. Took back as decided lifting a heavy folding bike in back of car was easier to get small wheeled non folding bike as put one wheel in at a time much lighter that way so ordered one. Next problem computer say's no as I don't exist, week later finally sorted. 2 weeks go by went to collect bike as now in and most likely assembled by the office cat. Everything lights up and then has a hissy fit and won't work. Awaiting for another new one to arrive. The manager said he would personally put it together.

Am I to understand they are giving you bikes?

That's not a promising start. It's a government backed scheme in conjunction with your employer. The idea is they get you a cycle to help you get to work. And cut down emissions, by not using the car.

But, but, but, -where does one mount the 5.0L V-8 engine? The controller is real fussy if all the wires are not connected properly. If the person assembling it only had half a brain, as most low end job people do, then they probably screwed up a tiny little computer wire connector type connection. I am surprised the manager did not have the knowledge or have some go-to guy to fix the problem on the spot. The wiring is not that complicated, but then wiring a scoot is even less complicated and we see the problems people have here on 49ccScoot... It will be a real headache to see how these new e-bikes survive the corrosion of moisture on lowest cost connectors...
Do disabled people with balance issues (like me) have the option for a three wheel e-trike with the program or are they being discriminated against as usual.
I might use an e-trike if mine worked. I dread going out and getting in my car. We have had several 102°F days, heat indexes like 120°F, and cars are like blast furnaces. I think those heat index figures are way off. I have been in actual 120°F temps in Las Vegas and a 120°F heat index is way way way worse. It is supposed to make 103°F actual temp today.

I can't take freezing either, something about loss of circulation with diabetes. I was wrong as usual, it hit 105°F today with a 121°F heat index. It was 110°F in my sunroom. I should go out there and catch some rays LOL. jloi is lucky, he can hit the beach. As long as he avoids the ocean and scalding he should be OK. People used to go to the beach to cool off in heatwaves. We even had lakes with beaches in Kansass. Now we have cracked mudflats because the farmers have drained all the reservoirs and pumped all the groundwater out in order to grow corn to make ethanol for fuel. We still have rivers to drink and to make humidity here in the river city because people still flush their toilets.

3 wheel E-Trikes with 2 full grocery bag capacity (preferably at least slightly recumbent) are seriously needed! Enables an old couple within 5(?) miles of essential stores to sell one of their expensive to keep cars. Gets them a little safe exercise. Gets them out to actually enjoy a short trip and maybe even say hi to a person. They do need to do the speed limit for the roads they are on. OK. I'm done for now.

Well the new one eventually arrived most likely put together by the office cat. So far it has done more miles on back of car as rain stopped play for a bit. May go back again as noticed a slight glitch when put battery in and turn on nothing happens sometimes but if you do a little dance refrain from bashing it put your hands over your eyes and shout BOO! at it uncover your eyes the lights come on and it's ready to go.

Try exercising the battery connections and the on/off switch a few times as well as coating connections and contacts with dielectric grease. If that does not work get out the rattles and feathers or get a witch doctor to bless it.

Well started to cycle home and battery was flat after 3 miles so phoned up Halfords ( don't know if there is a stateside equivalent) and they going to give me a new battery tomorrow. Only that quick because my mate who works there answered the phone so didn't have to go through all the procedures whatever they would involve.

Buying an electric scooter nowadays is not a problem at all. Many online stores provide a wide selection, different gifts when buying like helmets, installments and all that. Сherry Wheel has a very good selection. So yes, it is easy to find and buy. But first, really check the route you plan to ride on so that there are no restrictions, bans and all that. Besides, it's better to check if you have enough scooter charge for at least one way trip.
