It's not unusual for 2Ts to spit some black goo out. Rich mixtures and old packing can make it worse. From the look of the packing in yours, I think it's time to repack the silencer.
Light grey gunk is not so typical, but I'm thinking it may be whatever was used to seal around the end of the silencer. It's common to use RTV to seal there. I generally use copper RTV for high heat, but maybe someone used ultra grey or similar and it's breaking down with heat and oozing out? Not much else that should be grey in that area or coming out without being blackened by combustion leftovers.

That was my initial guess. Doesn't seem to be coming from the exhaust itself.
By "repack", do you mean replace altogether or is there something simpler I can do?
