Couldn't find anything recent on availability but wondering if I have any shot other than keeping an eye on a few facebook groups and ebay at scooping up the Polini Torsen Arm for a prebug zuma. Based on my searching, its polini part # 172.0014 that I'm after. This fits prebug, BW's and MBK booster models that would fit my '99 zuma. Anyone have any advice (or one laying in their garage lol)? catalogue.polini.com/dep/POLINI_TORSEN.pdf

Going to be a hard find, I know Trevor from mop boys just found one, also remember that there are 2 models made, one for vertical and horizontal minarelli Ha, I remember watching that vid. He was pretty stoked to have found one. So what is confusing is there are actually 7 or 8 different models. Here is what Polini lists in their catalogue: Then what makes this even MORE baffling to me is that they have two part numbers listed for vertical minarelli engines. One is for pre-2004 and another is 2004 and on... 172.0014 (pre-2004) is the sacred, sold out everywhere model. 172.0015 (2004 on) says it is for MBK vertical after 2004 but it actually is IN STOCK in quite a few places. Does anyone know what the different is between pre and post 2004 MBK vertical engines? It has to be with the dimensions of the case/rear axle, right? Because I've never seen a 'generation-specific' pipe...

How much $ do (did) those go for? Would be pretty easy to crank out a pile of them on my CNC.

How much $ do (did) those go for? Would be pretty easy to crank out a pile of them on my CNC. You can find them for about $130-175 shipped for the model I've been referencing. That model is not CNC machined though. Those models run much higher in price. Anywhere from $300-500 or so. There is a company, LMR Engines (they make some absolutely wild stuff), that makes CNC versions of this as well. www.instagram.com/lmrengines/?hl=enPolini even has a CNC version too but I think it is only for their PRE racing motor. www.maxiscoot.com/es/producto/basculante-polini-torsen-wd-p.-p.r.e.-piaggio-67936

Still, no luck finding anything for the "pre-2004" vertical minarelli engines.
... and still, no luck finding the difference between the pre-2004 and post-2004 minarelli engines.
I'm tempted to buy the post-2004 torsen arm and see if it fits.

Parts for older machines frequently go out of production. It is expensive to manufacture parts with special decorative coatings. Precise dimensions are required for CNC production. Older machines frequently have more modifications which can affect fitment. Users frequently expect perfection on higher priced parts which can also lead manufacturers to discontinue products.

The booster and BWS after 2003 got a reboot. The styling was completely redesigned, and it came with a catalytic exhaust.

sweet thanks man, i sent them a message. The booster and BWS after 2003 got a reboot. The styling was completely redesigned, and it came with a catalytic exhaust. i guess its more than safe to say the one marked as 2004 and up will not fit :-( This is a good point. Might have to just start calling some places or sending emails. Appreciate the reply. I'm sure shops overseas where the booster was much more prevalent would be more likely to have some but maybe some here in the states have some.

I recon your best bet are the Dutch shops. 95% of Dutch people speak english and every little town has their own bicycle shop which are almost always also a moped/scooter shop. www.wordspath.com/english-speaking-countries-in-europe/I can help you create a list of scooter shops which you can send an email? Let me know.

Emailed about a dozen or so scooter shops overseas over the past week or so and no good leads. I heard back from about 3 or 4 who all stated the part is discontinued and they are unable to help. Ponzi Racing actually does have them in stock and I emailed them twice asking for a quote on shipping but have not heard back. Something tells me it would be an arm and a leg though because I had reached out to them back in May or June for a quote on shipping an exhaust pipe and they quoted me around US$200. www.ponziracing.com/product-information/scooter-and-motorcycle-50cc/cycling/torsen-wd/polini-swingarm-%22torsen-wd%22-yamaha-bw's-mbk-booster-before-2004/ Over the past week or two I’ve also been posting in a couple Facebook groups online and someone actually sent me a message last night saying they have a Torsen arm brand new in box. Seems like there are some to be had still out there. But it’s just finding one that pops up or someone had laying in their garage, as people here have been saying.
