Recently gotten a Dr Pulley HiT clutch and it came with a slew of colored clutch springs and pillow rings and I need tuning tips. I like the good take offs AND the higher top speeds, I also live in a hilly area and would like the hill climbing ability to boot. I ask in hopes of reducing the time spent swapping springs. Reed valve reed thicknesses.. 0.03, 0.04, 0.05 ? what's the difference they make ? I've started frequenting a high speed road (posted 45) out of necessity and found my RPM's screaming at slightly over 10k which I am fearful of having the stock crank so I upped my Dr pulley sliders to 7gram in hopes of taming the rpm's, which is what happened, but, my takeoffs' suffer and hill climbing speeds dropped beyond my liking. Is this just the nature of the beast or is there something else I can do with my build to get a safe reliable balance of all I require of my scoot ? Any and all recommendations are welcome.

If the 7g sliders are to much, try slightly lighter ones. Small weight changes can make a rather large difference. Others may disagree but I feel 10K is no problem for a stock crank. I ran a stock minarelli crank around 10k for a couple years. Everything else looks pretty good to me since you have hills.

The right rollers are pretty much the right ones. Otherwise you are out of their power band. Have a read through this. www.pedparts.co.uk/blog/moped-tuning--rollersThe clutch only works for starting off. Once fully engaged its finished till you come to a near stop again.
