After doing my fair share of reading around, I am settling on doing a 47mm kit and using the stock head & valves for the time being. Funds are a bit limited - trying to stay within the $120 range to start with and then move my way up from there.
I have been stuck on the debate of Scrappy's kit or one by NCY/Naraku (found new online for $99).
I can't seem to find any complaints about the Scrappy kits in particular, but have found folks who have cracked piston's on cheaper kits. Any input on these?
Should I get the Scrappy kit and then use the addl money for jets, maybe a new carb, etc. or go for the more expensive kit?
I already have put sliders in the variator, upgraded the belt to a Gates, installed a 1500 spring. I am 6'6"/ 220lbs and deal with hills in the area. Just want to maintain a decent speed on hills and get around 45mph.
Thanks!

Hmm I have the Naraku 47mm kit on my bike before that I had a cheap non make one and I really notice the difference hard to believe but the Naraku just runs a lot better and it seems to output more power.
most the power I found after putting the kit in was CVT tuning and today I installed a 20mm carb no real power gain but engine seems to run through speeds smoother.
I'd suggest you pay extra buck for the named kits do one upgrade at a time so you can note their gain instead of throwing loads of things on your scooter at once.

The scrappy kit is from china. if i were you i would go hoca, naraku or ncy, they are Taiwanese and are much better quality, with domed pistons.

:welcome2:
I vote for Naraku as well. I've owned 1 cheap and one Naraku and the Naraku was made much better. You still need the jets to get it in tune though or no kit will last.

Thanks all. You have been much more direct here in answering my question. I think I will give the quality kit a go and grab a few jets as well. I have already tinkered with the sliders, a 1500 spring and gates belt. I'll be sure to get some bigger jets as well.
Thanks for the welcome and the help!
