Hello, I recently bought a Tao Tao Pony for commuting back and forth to school (about 3 minutes each way) and i had noticed a small metal rattling while riding. The rattle wasn't super loud but was getting drowned out by the sound of the engine accelerating so i'm not quite sure how bad it is. I took a look around and noticed my muffler was a tad loose so I tightened it down hoping maybe that would solve something but it didn't. Today, I noticed a squeaking noise start while riding and while idling which makes me think this may be growing into something worse than it is. I can try to attach a video but you can't really hear it over the sound of the engine so I'm not sure if that will help. Any idea what it could be? I have class all day today but plan on taking some stuff apart and looking around tomorrow to see if there's anything I can spot. Thanks

One thing of several that cause's rattling is flat spots on the CVT rollers (flyweights) Something to check as well as the whole CVT in general, it requires routine maint.

One source of a tapping noise is the valve clearance. Does the sound vary with engine rpm changes? Or.. Is it a speed related sound that only occurs in motion, and then, does it vary with speed? Very hard to tell without more information. I would suggest checking things for loose bolts, fasteners, etc. tom
