Not sure what to do now with the roll out of the new speed regulations which have come into law in Wales today, we can drive out of our road all be it at 20mph but we are stuffed for getting back in!

I was reading on one of the motorcycle forums. That tourism is down 80% in Wales this year. Most of the motorcycle guys refuse to ride there now it's become so draconian with average speed cameras, and lower speed limits. I guess that was the plan to keep people out.

Those new speed limits are only a problem for you 2T guys. 4T scoots won't even go 00 MPH unless they are being pushed back to the garage.
BTW- Those defibrillators have dandy parts for making DIY tasers.
One thing that can be done is cut down every other lamp post or more so they are more than 200 yards apart.

Do Thy have any justification for that absurd limit?

Do Thy have any justification for that absurd limit? Um I am sure they can justify the unjustifiable 🙂 but they do have it around most schools for years but I have never looked at the stats they quote from Spain where it's been implemented for a while over a wider area regarding less fatal accidents and less injuries

They are trying to implement it over the entire EU. You can read all about it on the web.

All of the side streets in this city are 20mph zones now. They ask blocked off loads of the streets as well, to stop people using them as a cut through.

My street has been a 20mph zone for years and is a rat run if the main road is choked, the limit is just ignored by all.The council (city USA ) are planing a speed bump right out side of my drive so polishing the car on the drive will become a hazardous task.

Just for conversation ,my work fleet of 8 big trucks and 10 merc vans have just been fitted with trackers,5 days in and one of the vans has the record of 83mph (national speed limit is 70mph) I wonder how long big brother will wait until they connect all the systems and just issue tickets.

I am surprised all fleet vehicles are not monitored for speed, other traffic regulations, and theft, for insurance purposes. The technology has been available for decades.

Yes its been here for years, but I remember the "paperless" promise of old,I think it comes down to the judges if the evidence is comprised of a series of 0 and 1s that can be altered at the kitchen table you have to be careful who walks that "green mile"

A lot of company vehicles are speed limited these days. You see a lot of stickers proclaiming this vehicle has been altered to reduce emissions. Yeah, you can't get full throttle.

It is a lot harder to alter that binary information than you might think. Certainly not at the kitchen table. When altered, the recorded data does not pass muster, a heavy 'fingerprint' is left behind.
Drive by wire has made it possible to do many things. I am surprised we see so many police chases when it is so easy to disable modern vehicles. Something is going on and we will be oblivious until it is too late.
There has been talk of limiting speeds to 20MPH in urban areas here in the US also. Quiet talk, but talk nonetheless.

Just this summer my small town of 700 had a street with a 25MPH speed limit (standard, sensible speed limit in town) changed to 15MPH.
Why?
There's a business nearby with I'd guess maybe 50 employees in their office. A few of those employees were said to be speeding down this street to/from work. Estimated speeds up to 40MPH. What's the source? Facebook. Yeah. A few people that apparently have RADAR guns in their homes complained.
I've never seen fast action with anything else like this, but it was changed within a week or two from 25 to 15MPH and Sheriffs were making it a point to setup speed traps.
15MPH is literally idle on that street with the truck. There's a slight decline one way and I had to hit the brakes a little to not go over 15. With the scoots I'm on and off of the automatic clutch to maintain that speed.
Seems like a sensible solution would have been to do the speed traps that they did anyway. Pop a few folks for 35-40 in a 25 and it'll get around the office and they'll slow down. Nope. That's too ordinary. Changing it to 15 and then having lots of Sheriff time there is just mean. There's also hypocrisy in my eyes when cops that will go 130-150 to catch a speeder (trust me, they come up behind you almost out of nowhere even when you're going 100) are giving out tickets for exceeding idle.
We've also had more people putting up those damn "Drive Like Your Kids Live Here" signs in their yards in areas where kids really shouldn't be anywhere near the road ever. If I had kids, they'd be cool and like wheelies and loud noises, so that's what those signs get from me. Just remember, you made a demand that is open for interpretation and I was kind enough to obey it so that exhaust noise is your fault. lol Try living on my 50MPH road. It's normal for people to drive pretty damn fast. Cops and sportbikes regularly go by so fast that there's not even time to look and see exactly what I heard. I've seen people riding wheelies past and they get a thumbs up. Go for it. I'll watch.

LOL My kids used to go wow for tire smoke etc. That is until I did it for them at the same corner with a full size Ford van with a 300-Six. After that they just were not impressed anymore.
That same corner with a 30MPH speed limit gets people going airborne at 100 MPH speeds, times change.
I do have access to a radar gun. I know the guy that invented it.
