Hey all, I'm new here. I just purchased an 04 vino and ended up on the site researching a bit so i figured I'd join. I'll probably have lots of questions.
I'm new to 2 strokes, and japanese bikes but I worked as a tech for a little while on chinese scoots. So far on this bike, I removed both restrictors on the variator and exhaust as well as raise the needle on the carb slide. I haven't gps verified yet, but speedo says I'm doing 40+. Id like to get 45-50mph just to keep up with traffic. People drive like you-know-whats around here.
Outside of that, we ordered a pollini exhaust at the local shop I used to be at, and I have ordered a final drive kit that doesn't fit. It will be sent back in the coming days. The exhaust we ordered is a sort of stockish look, but is allegedly a performance gain. I'm not entirely sold. I really don't want to chop the body up(this thing is cherry) installing something with an expansion chamber, so with all of that in mind, what else can i do to get me to my goal?
I've looked into bbk but idk if I really want to or not. I know its not hard, i just really wanted to keep the internals and engine as close to stock as i can. If that's what it takes to get to my goal, I'll do it, but i really want to keep it close to stock if i can. In that note, this is a minarelli engine, right?

firstly I don't want your address but a country will change the advice you need,at 40 your doing well use the speed list to reference vino,s and what needs doing to get to your target.I used a 50cc for years but you have to pick your battles and accept the limits this imposes, look at your routes if you can make it easier on the scoot and safer for you maybe you can leave earlier or talk less when you get there hold on to the drive kit you normally have to chop the case to get it to fit!! Thanks for the reply.
I definitely changed routes to help. This gear kit just flat out isn't right. Clearances are wrong, and the shaft that the clutch goes on definitely isn't the same. The exhaust we ordered came in, and the parts guy(bless his heart) ordered one for a vertical minarelli instead of horizontal. We have the correct exhaust on the way. It was actually a tecnigas silent pro, not a polini. Maybe down the road I'll get one with an expansion chamber and modify the body to fit but I think this will be good for now.
I know I'll need to upjet, because of new parts and weather changing soon, but what jets do I need? There's so many styles and shapes out there and I don't want to run into the same problem I have with the final drive and exhaust and get the wrong parts. It's a lot of work getting down to that carb so if I can find out what I need ahead of time that'd be nice. I also think I'm going to go ahead and do a bbk. Are there certain ones that are just not as good or ones I should stay away from?
