Got some snow coming my way tonight. Going to give me a chance to do my rope around the tire trick again. I'll take a picture this time for you guys ;D maybe a vid.

Definitely show us what you're up to. Be careful out there.

Thanks, and Always. Won't let anything happen to this scooter, after seeing what a few wrecks did to my brother's. I'm sure I would be fine, but these scooters don't like going down.
I was debating the video, because I look so funny keeping my feet almost on the ground and sitting towards the front so I can reach the ground. lmao
If we get enough snow I'll definitely make a video to show you guys how well it works. It's pretty awesome.

It's like putting chains on your tires. I wrap a rope around the rim and tire all they way around, gives it tons of grip in the snow. Rope lasts about 2 days then needs to be replaced (Depending on quality). I'll get you pictures if and when it snows.

If you click the image below you can view the full resolution. I did a video, but it kinda sucks. I want to do another one with a better angle. The buzzing sound is my carb hitting the frame, and the camera vibrating on the scoot. At the end the scooter cuts out on me. I checked it out, I'm not getting spark. I didn't have my back fender on, so my engine was COMPLETELY covered in snow. I'm guessing a short somewhere. Should I expect a damaged part? I blew it off with the leaf blower, put the fender back on, and put a heater under it in the garage. Can't wait to get back out ;D

It must work to some degree 'cause you can get moving. That's what I had trouble with on little bikes with similar tires. I still wouldn't trust it much, but I guess you can get around. We've got plenty of snow here so far today, but I think I'll stay in the house.

I've seen these things for a few years now coming out of China. If I lived back east I might consider getting one if parts are easy to get. I never researched them really... It comes in an air cooled 200cc: And a WC 250cc:

Pretty neat, but an expensive toy for a few weeks out of the year here. I know some folks with snowmobiles that live around here... The price on some of them is comparable to a motorcycle. Hmmm sportbike or snowmobile.... 3 wks or most of the year... hmmmm. I just can't see the appeal for that stuff unless you get 6 months of snow or you just have a lot of money.

Yeah - Which is why I thought the scooter one was pretty neat. I mean the kit can't cost THAT much... Hell - you could make your own kit.
